Good Points: Very versatile machine, much more than just a GPS.

Bad Points: Smart ST pre-installed maps may be ok for the mainland, but over here in Northern Ireland they are rubbish, with only about 40% coverage for here and the Republic of Ireland. So I bought TomTom 6 maps, and the level of detail is excellent, and though expensive (c. £70 Western Europe) is well worth the money.

General comments: I would definitely recommend the Navman PiN 570 Pocket PC. Wide range of accessories available on Ebay. Very sturdy, it dropped onto floor of car twice because windscreen holder came off glass, but not a scratch, still working well. It has become indispensible, carry it everyhere. From dawn (alarm clock function), thoughout the day, it's always with me. Very versatile machine, much more than just a GPS. Can download free software to view DivX films on it, plays mp3's, Adobe software, ebooks, diary, contacts, voice recorder, games, and much more. Can also connect to MSN Messenger, hotmail, websites, via wireless SD card (avail. on Ebay) near wireless routers/hotspots.

None of the good points apply if you cannot recharge the unit! The connection became detached within the Navman PiN 570 Pocket PC despite my taking every care and being aware of this potential problem.

The Navman PiN 570 Pocket PC is a good business tool, but a rip off as you need to purchase unlock keys for the European map CD Roms.

I bought this Navman product after some research, from Global Positioning Systems (.co.uk)who were slightly more expensive but their support seemed to be superior than their competitors.
I had an initial problem but GPS answered email very quickly with the support I had hoped was available.
The unit then worked straight away with clear & precise directions in plenty of time to react.
This unit seems to do what it says on the box and its size means it can be easily slipped into your pocket us ...
