Good Points: Looks good, defrost feature a boon - as commented elsewhere.

Bad Points: Again as commented in other reviews - poor build quality, the elements expired in 7 months, causing my fuse board main circuit-breaker to trip - whenever the toaster is switched on.

General comments: Having contacted the manufacturer (the Meyer Group) regarding a replacement prestige toaster under warranty, it transpires customers are required to pay for faulty items to be returned. Scandalous!. Considering the Royal Mail's Standard Parcel rate is around £5 (and the likely long wait in the Post Office!) this toaster is deemed an economic write-off - as the elements in any replacement are likely to only last a few months. The Prestige brand is hardly prestigious anymore. Laughably, the operating instructions contain the phrase 'A Lifetime of Quality'. I though a lifetime was measured in years, not weeks.

The defrost works very well and the Prestige 50452 toaster looks stylish. However, we have gone through two in less than a year because the elements go. We definitely do not recommend this if you want your toaster to last longer than 6 months.
