Good Points: Ground breaking special effects, original idea, great set pieces and action scenes.
Bad Points: Loses its way a little into the third film.
General comments: These films re-wrote the idea of "cool" in modern cinema. The concept is quite simple (our known world is a computer generated fabrication, the real world is a grim and desolated one where humans are either harvested or destroyed by robotic sentinals). What lifts these films above standard sci-fi fare is the idea that the surviving humans can "plug-in" to the computer generated world and do super human things. This gives way to a trilogy full of action, amazing special effects and some of the coolest characters seen in modern films.
Obviously I have only given a basic outline of the films premise, to give away too much would take away the films first viewing impact. Give this trilogy a go and expect to see something refreshingly original.
