You really do have to be a Daily Mail reader to not enjoy this book, not least because there is a five page entry for said paper in this encyclopaedia of things that are poo.
Basically, you shouldn't take anything that is said seriously because none of it is. It is just really funny. Just like loads of people without a sense of humour complain about Jeremy Clarkson being rude and discriminating. This book is laugh-out-loud funny unless you choose to take it seriously and choose to be offended.
