Still can't work out from the INFO ribbon how weak or strong a particular channel's signal is - but to be fair that's possibly just me being a numpty.

When my Philips DTR320 works it's okay but, as others have already written, it's not a stable system, freezing with monotonous regularity And pauses between channel changes are long enough to make a cuppa in sometimes.

would be a good box if:

When flicking though channels it showed "next up" program

Wasn't slower than a 200 year old lady walking backwards

    AND STOP CRASHING!!!

Picture is quite good but the unreliability of signal makes it useless.

The Philips DTR320 freeview box has a reputation for crashing. Although it produces a great picture, and it is east to set up, i wouldn't recommend it.

Despite the previous reviews I was tempted by the Pulse Killer Chip and superior sound and bought the Philips DTR320 freeview box in December 2005. I experienced similar problems. The Philips web site could only advise returning the unit to the retailer (Miller Bros - good service) for exchange. A second unit exhibited the same problems. I've upgraded to the Sony VTX D800U (February 2006) with no problems so far.
The Philips box automatically scans for new services and I suspect that this may ...

The Philips DTR320 freeview box was my first venture into the world of Freeview, so I was unsure whether the many difficulties experienced with this unit were features of the technology or faults. In the end I decided they were faults, and I returned the item to Amazon, who behaved impeccably.

The second unit exhibited more faults, not the same as the previous box, though the spec and model numbers were identical.

This is not what we have come to expect from a company like Philips. Altho ...

I bought the Philips DTR320 freeview box for my father as a Christmas present to replace the naff one we had to return last year. In fact we had two last year, both Philips DTR1500. Both kept losing channels and required constant resetting to bring them back to life. I thought by now Philips would have got their act together so I tried the DTR320. Well... After less than 24 hours use, the thing has completely frozen and does not respond to the handset. The box now has a habit of changing the cha ...
