“Saved my motorbike holiday to Scotland”

Written on: 22/05/2013 by PeterWhalley (2 reviews written)

On my way to Scotland when discovered a rear flat. Followed the instructions and the puncture was fixed. As it is only meant as a temporary measure I was nervous at continuing all the way to Scotland. Because it was Saturday and I might not be able to get the tyre changed until Monday I decided to continue with my holiday and just kept going for the whole trip (1,646 miles). The tyre did flick the solution over my bike and make a bit of a mess, however this was easy to clean off when I got… Read Full Review

“Works just fine”

Written on: 15/10/2012 by dexcz (2 reviews written)

I've used this product a few times now. It works just fine and I got the tyre permanently repaired afterwards every time. You just have to read the instructions, NOT jack the car up and drive for a few miles ASAP. The friction of the tyre and the road warms the stuff up and gives you more pressure aswell. Some repairers (e.g. Kwik Fit) tell people that this product ruins tyres and that they have to buy a new one. According to Holts, this is not true and Tyreweld is just water based "liquid… Read Full Review

Fab product , I had a flat back tyre I bought this item from a service station followed the instructions and was away within 15 mins I did top up with a little more air but continued with my 300 mile journey with no trouble. I will be getting another one to keep in my car as is much less time and truble than changing the wheel, which as a young female with a small child and dogs in the back, I can change a wheel but why when you can use this product :)

I used the product when I got a puncture on my motorbike while returning home from a weekend trip. I was on the freeway a long way from a garage or service centre. The product did what I purchased it for. Getting me home safe. However the only drawback being the stuff that flicked out before the hole was sealed got onto parts of my bike and I would like to know how to get it off. Have tried turps, metholated spirits and even thinners. The stuff would not budge. Can anyone help?… Read Full Review

Holts Tyreweld got me "across the line" in a 24hr ride, without it I would not have got to my "in" point and the distance covered would have been disqualified. (2217k.) It was a front tyre and I wont go touring without it. I also carry "proper" tyre repair gear. Will get you to the next town and quickly give you enough to ride on especially with tubeless/alloy wheel combos. May still fade after time, but its a quick emergency fix type product. And it works!… Read Full Review

“Sunday evening nowhere near a garage and my rear...”

Written on: 08/08/2008

Sunday evening nowhere near a garage and my rear offside was rapidly deflating. On inspection a delightful new 1" chipboard screw is protruding from the centre tread. I had three courses of action, (1) tighten the screw and trust in luck, (2) fit my doughnut spare, (3) use the can of Holts tyre weld I've been carrying around for years. Easy, being a lazy old sod I used the tyre weld as per the instructions after carefully unscrewing the offending foreign body (screw). Within seconds the tyre… Read Full Review

“Holts motoring products have been around for many...”

Written on: 06/12/2005 by Bertie (27 reviews written)

Holts motoring products have been around for many years and I have successfully used their radiator sealer and now their Tyreweld emergency puncture repair.

There is no way I could rate this product at anything less than a 10 all round as it got me out of a real jam last October when I had a front wheel puncture on my scooter, miles from anywhere and in a very hilly spot where my mobile phone doesn't work so I was unable to phone the RAC of which I'm a member.

A strong aluminium can 9 1/2"… Read Full Review
