I'm sorry Stella Artois, but this is the worst beer I have ever tasted. I poured the entire 6 pack down the drain. Just terrible, really! It also has an after taste as if you were given dental numbing medication. I'm not exaggerating, this beer is horrible and definately non-refereshing!! Don't waste your money.

I don't like to drink this beer any more and why there are not understanding that to making the stock of this beer. They should stop to making this beer.

Bitter and cheap tasting. Leaves an after taste that is hard to get rid of! Wouldn't drink this swill if it was free. Avoid at ALL costs!

Lets be honest, this beer tastes like garbage. Now I am just trying to get the taste out of my mind and memory. Horrible

First they finished the destruction of Budweiser that AB started by dilution and now Stella. Local draft product tastes pretty good but the bottled product is pretty much water. There must be be a water cut after kegs are filled! Was Gruber their consultant ? Miller Lite is now a better tasting beer that Stella or Bud ! Good rule of thumb...if it's an INBEV product keep shopping!

Having been a taste tester for many years at a major brewery all I can say is that if the Head brewer and his staff at the Stella brewery think it tastes as it did before the drop in o.g. then I think their taste buds need overhauling, or does profit come first rather than the customer. A really fine lager has been reduced to a run of the mill typically British brewed drink, gassy, tangy, with no real depth. R.I.P. original Stella Artois, sadly missed by all.

I have not bothered to drink stella for over a yr because the taste was totally different from previous times. Decided to try again for watching the rugby wales v scotland why oh why did i bother its still got that horrible tang to it I should have known better when I saw it in asda for £3 for a 4 pack perhaps its noit selling due to the taste and this is supposed to be a premium lager total joke. Anyway back to drinking a real true nice tasting lager its called warsteiner its brill. Stella if you want people to buy it go back to the old recipe and back to 5.2. No stars!

Since INBEV started reducing alcohol content in its premium beers, I've had to look elsewhere for the taste that I enjoy from a premium strength lager. I can remember stella being 5.4% at one point and now it's 4.8%. It no longer tastes like stella and is more like generic , tasteless UK lagers. In fact it's vile.

After seeing two strength reductions from 5.2% to 5% and 4.8% last year Stella Artois is now a pale imitation of its former self. It has lost its distinctive taste and smell and will eventually lose market share as people realise they are being ripped off as it's even more expensive despite the reduction in strength. I now go to Aldi's or Lidls and get their genuine German lagers and pay much less for more taste and a strength of 5% or more. Inbev you deserve to lose money now for trying to rip off the British public, don't forget Stella remains the same strength and taste on the continent.

I used to be a regular Stella drinker until a couple of years ago the brewers changed this most refreshingly enjoyable beer to one that resembles the likes of Fosters or Carlsberg. Over the last few years I've been trying out alternatives as I just won't drink Stella in its present form. In the end, I settled on San Miguel. Now, don't get me wrong this is a very nice drop of beer, especially when enjoyed on Summer evenings. But, I really miss the unique taste and flavor of the 5.2% Stella. I always drank it from the bottle (I just find beer tastes better from the bottle) When I used to crack a bottle I loved the smell. To me it always smelled like good quality green (for those who like a smoke) being burned. It was very unfortunate that this got the "wife beater" name, because this beer never made me violent or aggressive. On the contrary, it made me feel relaxed and very happy and that all was well with the world. I think those people who used to get violent after drinking a few Stel's are the type of people who'd get violent and aggressive after a couple of Supermarket own brand beers! I hope someday the brewers restore this once great beer back to its former glory. Now that would be a day to celebrate with a (5.2%) Stella!

There is no need for Stella to reduce alcohol, change the can or play with their customers in a bid to save the odd penny. they will lose more than they gain ....... Stella bye bye old friend I shall be looking for a new laternative..... I used to buy you for my pleasure and to impress my friends ..... no more

This lager is no better than average in any respect. On a par with carlsberg, fosters, hofmeister and carling. Once it was a great drink now its cheap swill and I avoid it.

I bought a 12-pack (US) of Stella last night. I drink a beer or two with a meal sometimes. First thing, I noticed there was no head when I poured and then it was flat. I drank it down like water, because there was no taste and to my eye, the color was lighter. I wonder if the marketing strategy is to introduce you to the good stuff and then switch to this swill. I will go back to drinking wine with my meals. I know there is good beer out there but once it becomes popular and they have to brew it other than at the original location, the quality deteriorates. Found an Irish beer that I use like, now brewed in New Brunswick with none of the original flavor. I did notice the original “Budweiser” from Czech. is increasing in sales as the patented “Budweiser” decreases. Too much money ruins everything!

Perfect among beers that don't have a lot of taste. Most of the cheaper beers in this category have something fake or nasty about them, but Stella goes down easy, way too easy in fact -- I've gotten drunker off Stella than any other beer. Somewhat expensive when you compare it to the mass domestics in the store, but the price difference in bars is relatively smaller -- maybe a $5 beer when a domestic is $4

By reducing the strength again to 4.8% in the UK Stella is now a poor imitation of what was a quality European lager. Some of us would rather pay more and buy a lager we like. Stella will lose out to other brands and to real ales which maintain their strength and full bodied taste. I think there may be a customer backlash in a similar way to those who gave up buying Gordon's gin when they weakened that brand whilst others maintained the original strength. Those of us in the south east should however take trips to Belgium to buy the real thing at less cost. The Treasury may end up the biggest loser. Jim

For a while now i have been wondering what was wrong with one of the best lagers which i have drunk for over 20 yrs well only just found out they have reduced the alcohol content down to 4.8 and have to say no more for me as you are paying a premium price without getting premium lager so goodbye old friend its been nice knowing you but will now look at other proper lagers to drink. why oh why do we put up with this. perhaps its time to start shopping in France again then the govt will have no tax at all. I wonder if the alc content is the same in Stella on the continent? rant over for now.

Stella Artois has always been an acquired taste. However, love it or loathe it Stella had an aftertaste that was unique. A classic after work on a Friday lager that could leave you relaxed and refreshed yet drink too much and you could ruin your evening! A great, great lager nonetheless, so long as you were careful! Unfortunately, since InBev's UK tax avoidance policy to reduce the volume from 5.2% to 5% it has tasted like watered down stella, yet you pay the same price. Another reduction to 4.8% makes the drink unrecognisable to how it's meant to be. An awful drink that dies in the mouth and leaves you craving for water . 4.8% is rough stuff and I would recommend everyone to avoid this terrible version of a fine drink! Don't buy it unless you're outside the UK!

wife beater. bo lacks. enjoy the taste and the experience. if you cant drink sensibly don't drink. Stella is nearly the best pint ever, only beaten by the very tasty, expensive peroni ( which is Italian, and they didnt help Europe in 1938-1942 ) drink Belgian booze... if you can handle it, and leave your missus out of it lol x

Agreed! Can you still buy the 5.2% Stella in Belgium?
