I was looking to renew car insurance in March and a comparison website listed Sheilas Wheels Broker as the cheapest and initially they were, but once I looked into some changes a few months later such as additional drivers, change of care use and change of address etc I came to realise how expensive they are! To change from SD&P use to business I was charged an additional £62! I find their customer service, once you wait 30 minutes to get through, very helpful and polite I have to give them credit for that. Their call charges are phenomenal and call waiting times too, so that along with ridiculous additional charges for minor changes I can't say I would recommend them, which is a shame as the many times I have called them I have found them friendly, helpful and professional. I realise them being a broker probably doesn't help with the expensive charges but still, I will be unfortunately looking elsewhere next time I renew.

Used Sheila's wheels for a couple of years now, and decided to take them up on their green flag breakdown cover this time round. Still not sure what I've actually bought as there was little information on the GF element in the stuff I got back from tem, except for about 6 pages of T&C's setting out all the things aim couldn't use it for. So this is exactly what I need when I'm sitting in a broken down car on the hard shoulder - or worse, on a lonely country lane. What I really need to know is the emergency number to call. Not in the pack I got. Shame on you SW. You advertise yourselves as for women yet you can't get this simple thing right. Anyone would think your just selling it to make more money. That couldn't possibly be the case could it? Eventually found the GF number on the web and stuck it into he phone by the way. Shouldn't really need to do this though, should I. Next year I will revert to buying these things separately. It's worth the extra £5.

Had a prang when there were two vans parked on double yellow lines on each side of our drive. Ended up scraping the car trying to get past them. Was disappointed to be told it was an 'at fault' claim because there was no one in the vans at the time - even though they were parked illegally!! Apart from that, smooth process although because there was a small amount of rust at the accident site, they told us it couldnt be repaired and was offered a cash pice instead which we accepted. In hindsight wish we had never claimed as lost my 3 years NCB... But the process was simple in general and the cheque arrived in a timely manner.

I shopped around for my insurance this year and was about to go with Shiela's Wheels, but I could not click to protect my No Claims Discount of 11 years. I rang them and they said they would cover me but I could not protect my NCD for another 2 years into the policy because my boyfriend (name driver had had an accident in Jan 2011. Bearing in mind my boyfriend claimed on his own insurance for his own vehicle involved in bumping a neighbours vehicle, nothing to do with my vehicle or existing policy. I was not prepared to do this so didn't renew with them, shame, their loss!

I was insured with Sheila's wheels for 3 years. In this time I had a claim (not at fault) that was swiftly and efficiently dealt with, including delivery of courtesy vehicle. The ONLY reason I changed was the renewal premium this year. Changed to Elephant. Thought I would add my review as it appears people only review when they have a bad experience - not when things are good.

I am very happy with my quote from Sheilas Wheels Car insurance. I saved £100 by choosing Sheila's Wheels rather than Budget.
Hopefully I won't have to make a claim this year, but if I do, I will ask my husband to do it!!

Sheilas Wheels Car Insurance Quote was £80 less than my renewal and £30 less than the next best quote.
If their customer service staff were a little more courteous and helpful when dealing with telephone and e-mail enquiries, they would make the buying process less fraught.
