Opening a claim with Shiela wheels for a non fault accident was one of the worse things I’ve ever had to go through. It’s been 6 months and it’s still going on. I never got told the correct information and never been contacted with an update. They are very slow and terrible customer communication skills I would not recommend. Stay away

Please make sure you think twice before going with this company and read the small print because I didn't. Basically I've just been charged £60 to get out of my contract with them. I found several much better deals online both with themselves and their 'sister' company ensure. They would match the price but the overall deal was better elsewhere. This should not be allowed. You are basically blackmailed to stay with them.

Black box is an utter junk, even though i got a good score and they gave me £30 back, i still think its ridiculous, they say no curfew, and yet you get penalised for driving at night. you get penalised for driving on new roads, you have to drive the same route (no deviations) ten times in a month to become regular. long waits to call customer services, even thought the people on the end are very nice and extremely helpful. My car eventually broke down so i got a new one, to change the car there was a £150 admin fee and higher premiums even though the new car was cheaper in other quotes. it was going to cost me over £300 to change the car. that combined with being annoyed with them, i decided to cancel with 5 months left. they refunded me £150, but as a percentage of the total price the refund is criminal. pay the extra money and read the policy details carefully left me feeling robbed

Been with Sheila's Wheels for about 3 years now. Fortunately have never had to make a claim, cancel policy or change details and, from reading reviews, I hope I never have to! Renewed my policy recently and was surprised to be asked to confirm my marital status. I don't remember ever having given them this informtiion so I asked why they needed to know. Was made to feel like I was unreasonable for questioning them! Wasn't given an answer but was told that marital status does not affect the premium. SO WHY ASK FOR IT THEN? Pursued this on principle and was eventually passed to the 'manager' who basically said I could state unknown if 'it bothered me so much'! and that they asked it 'because they could!' SO AGAIN, WHY DO THEY ASK? I suspect that they do use marital status as a factor in assessing risk and that married people are deemed less of a risk and probably pay lower premiums!!!??? (Irrational, I know). Sheila's Wheels should at least be honest about this discrminatory practice or remove the question if it has no purpose. I asked if my query could be passed to someone who can make this decision but I doubt very much that this will happen. Had already committed to another 12 months with them, but not keen to renew after that. They are cheap, that's all I can say!

was with Sheilas Wheels Car Insurance for the last year until 4 weeks ago, insurance was up for renewal & new quote was £100 more expensive than previous year, for the same car & still with no claims. phoned customer services to query quote & not helpfull at all, as to explaining why quote was higher than previous year, when i also still have 7 years no claims. cancelled my insurance with them & got cheaper quote elsewhere.

I haven't got cover with Sheila's Wheels, however the problem I find is in their customer services being based in Bangalore or wherever else it maybe - truth of the matter is when I phone to talk to someone it helps when the person understands where your coming from to help you come to the right decision, no disrespect to the customer service advisor. If I wanted advice about something in Asia or Africa then yes by all means I'd rather speak to a local than to a person in the UK who's never been to Africa or Asia as the case maybe. Customers need to be able to rely on any info or advice given by customer services.
