I have owned my Suzuki Madura 1200 for five years now (2009) and ride in all weather and pass everything on the road. I own four 1200's, a 700 and a Cavalcade, the big brother. What can I say?
Love 'em, love 'em love 'em.
I see another one on the road by chance maybe once a month if I watch carefully.
No other bike compares with the sound, power, grace and rarity.
Pro's:
AWESOME POWER, smooth, a little loud for touring; you might want earplugs, comfortable front seating.
Con's:
The headligh ...- Read Guest's review (211 words)

Today, at 24 years young, these bikes are still the most awesome bike ever built. No nore than 6000 Madura's all together were ever build by Suzuki (in two types; a 700 (698cc) and a 1200 (1165cc)
Within the two types, some minor changes have taken place;
A Californian model 1200 (emission controle) with a slightly lesser fuel capacity, the GLG version of the 1200 had a slightly different gear ratio....and a French and Canadian version with the gold spokes, these are even more rare.

I now own 2 bikes, a Suzuki GV 700 and a GV 1200 both with an age of 24 years.
I owned my first in 1991 when they were imported from the states
I will never let them go.
Never before had such a machine such an impact.
Both bikes are awesome and have plenty of power, good handling, great looks and the right "feel".- Read Sethjeboy's review (125 words)

All the instruments are readily accessable. The gages are a bright orange that is really soothing to the eye. My N maxima is like this and it looks sharp any time of day. There is a speed gage, an RPM gage and a fuel gage. The gear indicator is just as visible and easy to see at a glace. The dual front disk and one rear disk brake are very strong and stop the MC very quick and strong. The Madura has a great deal of power at any gear level. I was doing 70 in 6th OD gear and was surrounded by unsa ...- Read Madura85's review (248 words)

The absolute best handling bike I have ever owned and these are probally in the high twennies for me. I have owned Goldwings, BSA's, Triumph, Nortons, Bridgestones, Puch, and a few other obscure polish made bikes.
You want an inexpensive crotch rocket cruiser custom get a Madura.- Read Davepomrenke's review (89 words)

I am going on my second year with my 85 Suzuki Madura, and I just keep on falling in love with it. The bike was built and designed for me, ha ha. I am just 26 and plan on keeping my madura forever. Hands down the best bike I have ever rode, and I ride every bike that gives ma a chance.- Read Guest's review (87 words)

I owned one of these when it first came out and people don't realize just how screaming fast these bikes were! I don't recommend exceeding 100 mph hour however I must confess this bike was amazingly smooth at 120-135mph and mine (stock) would run 150 if you wanted to go that fast. I never had any problems with the bike and I've owned about 10 bikes since the Madura and I haven't ridden anything that pound for pound even comes close to this one for performance which leads me to wonder why they ev ...- Read lweilacher's review (111 words)

The Suzuki Madura 1200 bike is getting older and harder to find parts for. The unofficial Madura site is a good resource but you may find yourself waiting on that hard to find part to appear before you can ride again. The Madura is an awesome classic bike with some real devoted followers. You will definitely be part of an elite and special crowd when you own one of these bikes.- Read pqb3's review (139 words)

I have owned a Suzuki Madura 1200 bike for 2 years and I found it to be a great riding machine. It handles decent for a muscle bike, has tons of torque and 117 horsepower, and gets looks from everyone. Proper maintenance will result in a bike that will last longer than a lot of cars. Only drawbacks are you have to be careful with the throttle, as this bike is deceptively fast, and if parts break many are discontinued and hard to find.- Read Rage's review (116 words)
