“Worst service provider I have ever encountered”

If you are thinking of signing up with Meteor... don't! For years, I was a pay-as-you go customer with Meteor and I found everything fine, cheap enough deals, reasonably good reception nationwide. However, I switched over to bill pay with them a year and a half ago and it was the worst decision I ever made. Firstly, there has been 6 problems with bills since April 2013 (usually with them taking too much). Trying to deal with their customer service is an absolute joke! “Poor Customer Service”

I have been with Meteor over 3 years and I have had problems since day 1. I started the highest plan contract in 2011, which was €85 per month, at least until I got my bill and I was being charged an average of €120 each month. I then got an upgrade 2 years later on the highest plan again - which was still €85. “taking double amount from my bank account!”

I have been using top up direct for a year now. It was so handy. just type in four numbers and i'm topped up by €20..never again!! The issue I have is that they have been taking another €20 for themselves. It happened again today. I topped up €20 but my bank account showed they took €40 I rang customer care and was told there was nothing they could do.. I explained this was not the first time they took double money out. I have had a problem with them taking too much from my account too! And was also told there was nothing they could do. I can't believe they can get away with this in this day and age. I've also left. Hopefully other people do the same!

“Meteor Cannot Send Text to Orange - "User's Problem"”

For some time I have not been able to get text messages through to a French Mobile - Orange customer. The Orange number can text and call me. I can call the Orange number. Other Meteor mobiles cannot text the Orange number. I can get a text through to the Orange number using a Vodafone mobile. Meteor continues to charge me for the texts that do not get delivered. “Deliberately keep phone locked after contract”

I asked meteor to end my contract and unlock my phone after moving abroad. 90 days later it was still locked. They told me it would be another 15 days. I could not use my iphone 5 for 4 months because of this. All they said was sorry, but our admin team deal with it and we cannot speak to them, you cannot speak to them, and we have no idea what takes them 15 days. “Never have any problems”

I have an iphone billpay service with 5G data limit. I commute to Dublin everyday and I use Spotify and Rdio all the time with no problems. I get 3G coverage most of the way so no problems with coverage. I don't know why people are complaining about the service as the few times I have rung customer service they have answered my questions. “hate this network!!!!!!!!”

“New member at Meteor”

I changed to Meteor from my service provider of 11 years, because they offered a better deal. But I really wish I hadn't. My wife and I wanted iphone4's at the time, but bought androids (Xperia T & J) on recommendation. Both phones were opened for roaming, but did not work out side of Ireland (not even in the North). “Can not be trusted”

I have a very bad experience with this company. I made 20euro top up by credit card for my pay phone which I hadnt used so long. But this number was used by somebody else just because I havent used so long. They gave the number to somebody else. So I asked them to get me 20euro back. “Meteor are great”

Meteor are great I've been on meteors talk text and internet plan and its been working out great for me. For 30 euros I get 30 days free web, up to a limit naturally, and since I don't ring people much I have use that for 30 days, then let it take the daily amount after that. So 30 euros gets me nearly 50 day of internet. I would recomment that if you use the web more then call people. In general, Meteor provides very low level of service. Not all places in Dublin are covered. I cannot make calls sitting at my desk. “Worst Network by a mile.”

Meteor staff and customer care lied to my face, took money from my account without permission (when I had left them as a customer) and then refused to pay it back saying I had already received a refund which I never got(and proved to them with a bank statement. “Fairly Reasonable”

Because of the fact that 02 , 3, Tesco Mobile and Vodafone are the only competitors and they're absolute rubbish, I wouldn't give Meteor a wholly negative review. I've been with them for years, religiously topping up every month to get my free calls and texts to other Meteor customers. Rarely do I have much trouble with it. “Meteor Mobile - WORST MOBILE COMPANY EVER”

I moved here from the states, looking for a job. I got a Meteor Samsung Mini Galaxy that worked for a month. Then something went wrong with the hardware. I had to go through all sorts of different emails and phone calls before I was told how to send it in for repair. I'd bought the phone on Henry Street but was in Galway looking for work. “WORST customer service in Ireland if anything goes wrong”

I have had no issues with coverage, have found it very reliable actually, and they do some great deals but everything and I mean EVERYTHING, is too much trouble if something goes wrong. Their mobile broadband, for example, €20 for 7.5gb / 30 day pass. It's good deal and works well but if you go over your data allowance you will be directed to a meteor page advising you that you need to purchase a new pass (no problem there) but you'll spend HOURS trying to purchase one as you'll get… Read Full Review
