I love this car, I wish I could find a video clip of it. I hate it that most of the info in this car is really hard to find. the stuff i want is 0-60,top speed,what races it's been entered into,and what car compares to it.

Everything is good about the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak! I went to the Tokyo Motor show, and saw "Monster" the driver! There was a competition to drive a tuned down scale of the Escudo and I won! Even though it had it's torque reduced it is still a mean motor! 0-60 in about 5 secs and a top speed of 200mph. If I had the money I would definitely buy it! It's handling is excellent! And so is everything else about the car! (read more)

Actually, a VW Golf could smoke a real Escudo (not the Pikes Peak edition). The Suzuki Escudo is known as the Suzuki Sidekick here in the states.

We could all look at statistics of the Escudo pikes peak version but we could also look at this piece of art at work. Its acceleration is fenominal if used correctally and its top speed speaks for itself , yes it has bad points aswell. Its acceleration has to be one of its best points becasue it give the edge the car. Although this car is fast , it has some bad points like handling , reliability and price, which if you own one wont matter but to the average worker who thrives on owning one... (read more)

The Escudo is just a japanese make of the Grand Vitara. You can buy the Grand Vitara from Suzuki cheap, get a supercharger, and a custom made racing body from Suzuki. It's not worth it, however, because it's not a practical car. I have seen one in my entire lifetime, driven at the annual Pike's Peak Climb. From what I saw of it, it was a nice car - if you race rally. (read more)

Myself, I love the car. It is fast and has great acceleration. True it is better on dirt but is good for the road also. With over 900 horsepower It is virtually unbeatible. But there are some down pionts to it.

This guy knows absolutely nothing about the Escudo except what he saw in a video game. Not to say the game is not to be trusted, it is one of the most realistic to date, but just by looking at his review you know he has no idea what he's talking about. This is a great car, and I feel as if the pure ignorance of this review is staining it's reputation.

Over here in scotland the suzuki escudo actually is a suzuki vitara and if you can afford it go to a company who make things out of fibre glass and ask them to make you a suzuki escudo pikes peak version bodykit for your vitara and if they say they will do it then supply some pictures and info on the car.

I just couldn't believe that it's top speed was 939 mph, was this some kind of joke? I remember the first time I drove this car, it was like flying an F-16. I could do a u-turn at 200 mph, stop in 10 meters and then smash the gas pedal to reach the top speed of 317 mph in less than 5 seconds. I recommend this car to anybody. There's just enough place on the passenger's seat to bring your golf clubs, they really thought of everything at Suzuki's! (read more)

The Suzuki pikes peak escudo is a brilliant car, i agree. but too many people are refering to the gt2/3 versions which are just games. yes the physics can be replicated but everything is nothing compared to the real thing.
you try to take a normal car on tarmac at high speed and turn round a corner. even better try it on loose gravel or dirt, now take the horsepower to around 900 and try to stay on the track. power is nothing without a good driver. even nobuhiro has had a crash.

I agree with the hustler on this one. The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak rally car is the best car I ever drove. I've topped it out at 264 MPH. It is superior to any car i've ever seen or driven. The 1996 Escudo Pikes Peak has 985 bhp @ 8100 rpm and two Twin Turbo V6's and a Curb Weight of 800 kg / 1764 lbs. I love this car. (read more)

Well, I know for a fact that you have not driven this Escudo, or probably have never seen one, or will. There is only one Escudo in the world (that I know of). It is NOT road legal. The only person who drives it is some person from Japan (can't remember his name), and he rarely does. And, no, this car is NOT legal in Japan, either. They have a 276 hp limit (I think). It's made for climbing, anyway. Not 264 MPH top speed, and don't say you have driven it onroad. It was not meant to, and there is no record of it being driven anywhere except Pikes Peak (Colorado, if you don't know). So, stop lying about cars you don't own, and stop playing Gran Turismo 2/3....
