“Waste of time and disappointing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by gnTerry322 on 30/08/2018

I requested for a quotation following seeing a vehicle on the company's website. I was emailed a quote which stated "including VAT" so proceeded with the application. After informing the employee I needed the vehicle asap and also verbally agreeing the costs will be as originally quoted I was then later informed the quote was incorrect and the VAT had to be added so the price would actually be higher than initially agreed. Since initially contacting the company on a Friday it was now Wednesday before I was informed of this "admin" error so a number of days had been wasted on me trying to obtain a vehicle which was needed asap. I have leased vehicles before and never had any issues previously. I have contacted another leasing company which has arranged my car lease within less than 12hours and at a more competitive price.

ACCEPTED ODER FOR CAR IN DEC 2013 WHICH WAS ORDERED FOR 9 WEEK DELIVERY. TOOK PAYMENT FOR THE ADMINSTARTION CHARGES AND SAID IT WOULD BE DELIVERED IN APRIL 2014. ASKED ME TO SIGN CONTRACT AND T&C. THEN SENT NEW CONTRACT WITH T&C FOR VEHICLE STATIND DELIVERY AS JUNE BUT REASSURED ME IT WOULD BE DELIVERED APRIL. CALLED SEVERAL TIMES THERE AFTER AND THEY COULDNT GIVE CONFIRMED DELIVERY DATE AND SAID IT STATES IN T&C THAT THEY CAN DELIVERY UP TO 2 MONTHS AFTER DELIVERY DATES STATED ON CONTRACT WITHOUT BREACHING CONTRACT. THEY NOW SAYING ITS JULY 2014 DELIVERY, 6 MONTHS FROM ORDERING CAR. I ASKED FOR REFUND AND THEY SAID THAT I WOULD NOT GET MY ADMINSTRATION CHARGE BACK AS THEY ARE COVERED IN THE T&C. TOTAL LIES, FALSE PROMISES, NO CAR AFTER 6 MONTHS. JUST GO BY CAR FROM THE GARAGES DIRECT AND THEY WILL MATCH THE DEALS THAT THESE CONMEN DO.

“Avoid like the plague!!”

Ordered a c63 amg estate in November 2012. This was for March delivery. Every week until early February I was phoned confirming this date for delivery. Then 3 weeks before delivery I was told it had moved to April delivery as there was a problem with engine manufacture. I checked with Mercedes in Germany head office who said the opposite was true. Then Freedom vehicle contracts moved the delivery date to may then the end of June. You make your own mind up who was telling lies. I tried to cancel when they moved it to end of April but Freedom vehicle contracts pointed to the eight weeks penalty. As far as I was concerned eight weeks had elapsed from the beginning of March only to be told it was eight weeks from the last day of the delivery month. Anyway it all got cancelled without charge when they moved the date for the final time to the end of June. Still without a car though!! Never mind so I rang Best Merc Deals got me a a great deal and it was delivered on 6th March. Funnily enough it came with a fully functional engine, who'd have guessed?

They promised twice to get back to me reference a Mercedes SL. They did not because clearly their advertised rate was a lie.

below of a response for freedom trying to charge a cancellation fee of £780 Firstly i would like to state that i will not be paying any cancellation order due to the following; i also request refund for doc fees for what i have paid on my card for £180. firstly my father and i have been speaking with them regarding a Mercedes Benzes E class for both of us to use. we was told on Monday the 8th after a telephone call that she could do a Merc slk 200 blue efficiency pre 125 edition in grey and automatic at £335 inc vat on a 3+11 deal. This went ahead and was ordered and credit checked as this car was in stock for immediate delivery. we pointed out that the car was needed for immediate delivery. anything with a lead time would not be suitable. after this the order came through with a different color and gearbox with a higher price! I explained that this was not correct. However they then explained that this car is no longer available as the dealership manager has had this for he's wife. so the order received was for another SLK which is not what i want. as i wanted an automatic. She then looked at e classes etc however they were not available. She then said how about and Audi A6, we said yes and to confirm prior to credit checks that this vehicle is guaranteed and in stock. Theythen went away and came back and said I've got this vehicle on hold and that all we need to do is the finance and you can have this in 1-2 weeks you can choose an 11 plate or have it on the 1st of sept with a 61 plate. I said i wanted it Asap. They called me back and confirmed that this car was on board a ship and on its way over. i accepted these terms and decided to confirm the order. However the formal order was made on the 9/8/11 I received a telephone call from freedom office stating that the car was going to be delivered mid October. i still have this on my answer phone I contacted freedom immediately and they said that they would call me back i said that i need the car Asap as i am hiring a car now and I need it Asap. Freedom called me back and said that the car would be delivered early September. I still stated that this is not right and not was agreed if it cannot be delivered within the two weeks then i don't want it. She called me and said that as there is a ship problem that even though she confirmed it was on board and on its way she was now telling me that the car is still awaiting to be loaded and it would be a September delivery i said this is not what we agreed so i do not accept the terms. if i agreed this it would be a 3/4 week delivery at the very earliest if this was the truth bearing in mind this would be the 3rd time I've been told incorrect information. I said our agreement was an immediate stock delivery. If you would have stuck to what you said i would not be writing this email to you. As a result i have been checked twice on my credit file for no reason, as you can not adhere to what you say. please refund me the £180.

“Incredibly poor service on time-limited leasing deals”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 27/06/2011

I got an incredibly good deal on a Merc from Freedomcontracts. All went fine until it came to sealing the deal and sending the final paperwork. Firstly, I had problems with insurance, I asked a few questions about what could be done if I needed to cancel. costs etc. Secondly, it had not been made clear to me that I needed to send original signed copies of paperwork to the dealer to secure the vehicle - there is a LOT of paperwork required and somehow I assumed I'd already send it and was out of the country when I needed to post it all. I found the response truly abysmal - my order was cancelled without me asking for it to be, and there was no understanding whatsoever. I was encouraged to 'cancel the car' myself for a reduced fine - the fine itself was incorrectly quoted to me when asking for payment, and I was told that I needed to return the paperwork to a different address. The result is I am likely to be £600 out of pocket, and what did I do? I wasn't able to get the signed paperwork to the dealer on time...
