Good Points: Looks good
Bad Points: Piercing sound quality. Absolute nightmare, leaving no other choice but to use Sonicstage, which has a poor interface.
General comments: I found that the claims of the Sony NW-E103 portable MP3 player were misleading. If Sony were to be more specific, they would have stated that it is in fact not an MP3 player, but a Atrac Plus MP3 player. Two different formats, which are not across the board compatible.
Not being able to drag and drop ordinary MP3's is a real pain. You must first convert them using the Sonicstage program. This should have been clearly marked on the box! I am so depressed that I bought this in error due to Sony's false advertising. I have always loved Sony products, and all my Hi Fi equipment is Sony. It took this MP3 player for me to lose trust in Sony.
The sound is squeaky; even at 256bps. I am not sure if this is a result of the Atrac format, the supplied headphones, or the player itself. Boo Hoo Hoo!! Cry.
