The fitter was incompetent . Flooded the upstairs so had to get an emergency to plumber to help him to drain system and solve the issue and then asked us to pay! Fitted shower door back to front. Decided to tile the shower enclosure so not tiled to the end as had cut all the tiles and didn’t have any left. I wish I still had the photos to shower the level of incompetence. The area manager was absolutely useless and in the end I insisted on the regional manager getting involved. Leaks in abundance- the waste on the sink , waste on the shower, radiator. A two to three day job took 3 weeks and then was the shower tray was leaking after 4 months. I would rate 0 stars if that were possible.

Ordered a bathroom suite and when it arrived found the sink broken in half, how they never noticed at the warehouse is beyond me. After a week of hearing nothing from Bathstore regarding a replacement, had to call and they claimed they knew nothing about it! Three deliveries later, I finally got an intact sink. Unfortunately the bath front was also damaged and that took another 3 deliveries, all of which were damaged. Had to drive to the store and collect a display bath front in order to finish our bathroom. In all, it took over 13 weeks for Bathstore to deliver a simple order. Don’t know if they are in financial trouble, it certainly seems that way as they appear to be using substandard products but charging full price. My complaint to Customer Services was handled by an “Executive” but the reply had so many grammatical error it would have embarrassed a 10 year old! If you value your sanity and want a working bathroom go elsewhere. Hard to believe a company can be this incompetent, but that’s the only thing Bathstore have managed achieve.

I went to the Sevenoaks Branch, and ordered £1,000 bathroom. The taps on the invoice were not those I'd ordered, so I called to inform them. They don't answer the phone, so I left a message and asked to be called back. I also sent an email with the same information. As they didn't call back, I tried again 2 or 3 times. Then again the next day. I finally called head office, and within half an hour, the manager was suddenly less busy, and called me back. He promised to confirm in writing that the correct taps would be sent. Needless to say, this has not been done. I suppose I'll try again with head office tomorrow. I would suggest that you do not shop with this organisation, as there's no guarantee you'll get what you ordered, and the promised 'guarantee' is unlikely to be honoured

Bathroom was lovely at first. Fitter was friendly and courteous until there was a problem then he was uninterested and aggressive. Tiurns our he holds no formal qualifications and is actually a theif!! (Never returned to do jobs he was paid for by my friend and others) I got a five year guarantee not worth the paper it’s written on as, surprise surprise most things are only covered for 2 years however no terms and conditions were attached to said guarantee. We measured our bathroom and picked everything in store. We were then given a design image and then the fitter visited our home to ensure all would fit. We have inaccessible areas we cannot clean as the shower tray is too big fior the area, we’ve had leaks and problems with out floor tiles. The customer service experience was rotten to say the least. When I did manage to get them to call out I was threatened with a call-out fee of £150 + if the problem wasn’t theirs. They said the problem wasn’t theirs but I didn’t get a bill so therefore behaviour was threatening. I was asked to take photos of my floor tiles and email them in which I couldn’t do as they are black high gloss but they told me they were only guaranteed fior 2 years so why did they want photos anyway if they were slightly older!!! We never received any instructions with any items we bought on caring for our bathroom. Bathstore Newcastle, fitter Ashington/Bridlington area. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I worked in sales at a B/S showroom for five awful years and dreaded the phone ringing because I knew that 4 out of 5 calls were complaints and I was sat at the phone that took incoming calls, I have bought a new bathroom for my own home but I buy brand named goods only strictly no junk that way I can get replacements easy and know they will last and maintain their appearance, I bought a carron bath and Armitage pottery and pegler taps. B/S import mainly from the far east. It looks lovely in the showroom doesn't it .

Yes it does! When I posted this review I received an email from a supervisor who wanted to help. I was then contacted by the relevant department who said once again they wouldn’t help. A fitter who came out to look wasn’t impressed with my tiles and told me the bath store had recently changed their tile supplier, something they’ve denied. They told me the tiles were dull and marked due to me using a ‘heavy duty tile cleaner’ which I’ve never used. I was then advised to use a specialist ‘heavy duty tile cleaner’ to rectify the problem, how contradictive is that!!!! Furthermore the tile cleaner cost me £12 and it made no difference. Initially when I emailed in, the person who answered me thought he was emailing a colleague and he said in the email quote” what have you said to this woman because I don’t want to say something different”. He nearly sh.. himself when I said you’re talking to THIS WOMAN!, unbelievable

My bathroom fit started in September 16...... Schedule in fitters... send them back multiple times for snagging.....being made to feel uncomfortable in my own home... aggressive fitters wanting unfinished work signed off...electrical certificates not being handed over.... the bathroom was never checked by anyone other than the fitter until complaints went in with photographs....still no representative from the bath store will come out to inspect the shoddy work... it’s never been a new shiny bathroom like you expect it’s had sealant left all over the porcelain... floor tiles have cracked...filler panels have had to be reordered due to mastic being left on it....oh and never mind the delivery guy who can’t actually read addresses and thinks it’s a chore to remedy his mistake after we called to tell him... oh and remedial work requested in April 18 being offered in September 18.... All in all avoid like the plague.... Apparently after paying nearly £9,000 you are expected to be happy with a faulty bathroom poor decoration and £300 compensation. Who knew that’s all ithe stress and ongoing issues is worth.... Bathstore Edinburgh and the installation centre need a lesson in simple customer service it is not up to the customer to chase up on complaints... you have my money now provide the bathroom you not only quoted for but promised.

New customers beware, having had a delivery of 81 boxes for my 3 new bathrooms, I’m now being told I cannot return an item. This being a toilet that a one of their bath store designers advised us to have. Reason - as we have not kept the box!! They wrongly advised us to purchase this toilet that will not fit in our bathroom even after one of their surveyors came round to check out all of these things. This is spending over £6,000 with them. They keep telling items can only be returned in their original packaging but still expect you to check all items on delivery. I am supposing they’re expecting to store 81 empty boxes. Not sure where though.

If you buy bathroom wall panels from the Bathstore please do not open them or cut them until you seek 100% guarantee from the Bathstore that they fit together because if they are manufactured incorrectly then the tongue and groove between broads will not fit as it should and you will not be able to get you money back. How you check they are as they should be is beyond me hence getting the guarantee. We spend thousands on a bathroom and have had to buy another wall panel as they original ones did not fit together. We had opened the package and cut the board before checking though. Panels are to big to lift into place for one person and wont fit together unless you take them out the packaging! Issue two make sure you count every box on your order when delivered or you will be missing items! All in all we are now expecting delivery number 3 now! 2 weeks so far with out a working bathroom. Do not recommend the Bathstore to anyone w certainly wont use them again.

Absolute waste of time, am renovating my property (3x bathrooms) and have been looking online for a bathroom suite so have a fair idea of what I should be paying for quality branded bath/basin/toilet etc... The Bathstore in my local high street has a sale sign up it all the time, I drive past it everyday... so I thought I'd pop in and get a quote. Fancy showroom, quite impressive. Went to counter and asked for a *cheap* bathroom suite (Standard 1700 bath, basin and toilet), they showed me a basic suite which looked ok, not a known brand (Like Twyford or Armitage Shanks, etc...) their own brand I think. Sales person looked on his computer asked me if I wanted taps (I did not), waste for basin and bath (Yes)... then said "With todays discount that will be a total of £803"... (For a 1700 bath, basin & toilet) I asked for a cheap suite nothing fancy and they quoted over £800. I just laughed and asked them to print me off the quote, he then said... wait for it "I cannot print the quote" but there is a printer right behind you I said... he then replied "Yes but today is the final day of our sale and the price will change tomorrow". I then replied "So if I walk in tomorrow you would not sell me that suite for £803, he said "no our prices change daily". Comical to say the least and I would suggest anyone in their right mind should avoid the glitzy showrooms, shoddy sales tactic (Todays price?!?) and shop around online, there are some great suppliers out there who will sell you branded product for a great price. I purchased a Twyford bath, Twyford basin and Twyford sink WITH a Grohe shower mixer (Inc shower head), Grohe basin taps and a toilet soft close toilet seat for under £650 and the quality is FAR better with good manufacturer warranties.

I visited the Guildford store on Sunday 12th March 2017 and put down a deposit on a new bathroom suite and installation. The fitter visited my property on 15th March to conduct the survey and he confirmed that due to other commitments that he wouldn't be able to start work on my bathroom until 24th April. So I waited for the work to start on Monday 24th April. On the morning of 24th April, the delivery of the suite and accessories arrived but the fitter did not. It wasn't until around 3pm on that day that Bathstore confirmed that fitter could not start work on my bathroom but another fitter had been organised to start work on Wednesday, 2 days later. Wednesday morning came and went without any fitter arriving. After repeated calls to Bathstore HQ I finally spoke to the Installation Coordinator in the afternoon who told me that although he was made aware that the fitter could not start that day, no one at Bathstore had bothered to inform me. The conversation finished after I asked the Installation Coordinator to guarantee that the fitter would start work the next day, and he confirmed that he would definitely start the next day. Well by 10am the following day (Thursday) I began to lose faith in Bathstore's ability to carry out the installation of my bathroom when yet again the fitter failed to arrive. I received a call from the installation manager at about 11am telling me that this fitter had gone AWOL and due to a lack of available fitters in my area he would not be able to guarantee me an installer now or at any time. I relayed this to Bathstore HQ who told me to disregard that conversation and that they were trying to arrange an emergency installer to start work that day (I didn't get one). About an hour later I received a call from the person who owns the company that Bathstore use to outsource the installations to in my area. He apologised and confirmed that he himself would be able to carry out the installation of my bathroom; but not until 8th May. I reluctantly agreed to this as I couldn't see how your company was going to provide any alternative. It is worth noting that in all Bathstore's literature it does not mention that they outsource installation. The outsourced fitter did install the bathroom at immense speed. I was somewhat surprised when he demanded £540 cash for materials not provided by Bathstore (yes they'll provide the tiles but not grout). I had to ask him to return on two further occasions because the amount of grout haze left all over the tiles made it a poor quality finish. There is still a lot of haze all over tiles. I am left wishing I had never walked into the Guildford store back in March. I complained to Bathstore and was offered only £200 compensation. I never felt that the company cared about customer service. Despite all the wasted time off, stress and calls to Bathstore. I was told that it I did not take the compensation I could take my case to the Furniture Ombudsman. But if I did Bathstore would retract the compensation offer. I wrote to the Ombudsman, and they were even more of a disappointment than Bathstore. I only received a response because I chased twice, and it was only to agree with Bathstore. I was not given a reason, leaving me feeling that my complaint was even not investigated. I am left with grout haze all over the tiles and no compensation. This company does not care about their customers. Avoid.

Had to use Ombudsman to get a refund for two taps that had a design fault, it took Ombudsman 12 months to get the payment. Appalling after sales service. Customer don’t care service asked me to fill area leaking with silicone. Long story short I would rather pull water out of a well and walk 5 miles with it in a bucket than use Bathstore taps in my house.

Purchased bathroom open space sink and cabinet from bathstore , which has started to have the laminate flack off on the top edges of the side panels ! Now it has spread to the door and Handel area !! I phone the bath store were I purchased it from , and was asked for photoes . Which I did , and was informed that it's my fault I have installed it in a damp and wet area ?? I then commented that this product should be designed to be put in a bathroom which by its nature is a damp and wet environment !!! I now have the extra exspenc of replacing this sink unit from a outher bath room suppler ( NOT THE BATHSTOR). so much for the life time garantee???

We recently bought a cupid black marble bowl from bathstore. We were told in the show room that the basin was plain black & the image on the website supported this. However when we unpacked the product we found that not only did it have a marbling pattern, which on it's own we would have found acceptable, one of the marbling lines was such a strong line across the surface of the bowl that it appeared to be cracked. We emailed the store with pictures & the salesman agreed with us about the problem & said other people had been in touch regarding the same issue. However, because of building work we had exceeded the 7 day return deadline & the company refused to give us a refund. Please be aware that this product is nothing like it appears on the website, we understand that as a natural product there can be discrepancies but at the time of purchase we were informed that the bowl would be plain black.

I purchased a product from the Bathstore Bury Lancs. Since the store is a showroom, the only way to receive the product is via their delivery service.I was quoted a price for the product instore. I received the product only to find out it was not suitable, so I returned the product to the store in Bury. They refused to give me the full price and wanted to deduct the £5 delivery price. This was unacceptable to me as I was not told that the price I paid for the product had a separate delivery charge. My receipt shows a goods total + vat equally the total price i had paid. I refused to accept the reduced refund and was told the only person who could make the decision to grant a full refund was the Area Manager. I was promised that the store would make contact with him and he would phone me back. I then left the product in the store without receiving any refund. This was mid July. Since I still not had a full refund and having made numerous phone calls to the store I was promised that someone would get back to each time. It wasn't until 16th September having spoken to a colleague earlier in the day that i got a reply via the store colleague that the Area manager was not prepared to refund the full amount. I was also told that if I wanted to contact anyone in head office this was not possible and the only way to try and take the matter further was to contact the Furniture Ombudsman. Having been forced apparently to pay for delivery charges that was not explained at the time of purchase, on top of extremely poor customer service I would never purchase a product from this company again

PLEASE PLEASE think twice before using Bathstore's installation service. Bathstore charge around 200 % the price for installing your bathroom compared with independent bathroom fitters. They also pay their installers a fraction of what they charge you. If you do consider using Bathstore's installation service, you will also have to pay the complete amount up front before leaving the store. I made the mistake of becoming one of their installers but soon realised that Bathstore's components are very poor quality and their prices are massively excessive. Take my advice and get a comparative quote from an independent bathroom installation company - YOU WILL USUALLY SAVE THOUSANDS!!

Instore experience We met with the person I dealt with of the docklands store, and he was very helpful and informative and showed us around the store room. This gave us confidence that they knew what they were talking about etc. We subsequently chose all the products we needed for our bathroom and a fitter was sent very promptly to measure up our bathroom. We were reassured that there would be a toilet in the bathroom at all times. No guarantees for showers/sinks until later in the project - which we understood. We told bathstore that we would be away half of the week during the install. The fitter came out and measured everything, and said - yes, should be done within 7 days, but we normally say 2 weeks just in case some problems arise. Fine. We were given a quote of £7.5k initially just for installation, and we took out the electrics as we had a contact which brought the price down to £6.5k. We felt it was a bit steep, but we wanted the warranty and were reassured of the quality of installation. Installation service Products were delivered on the first day of installation, and the fitters took care of the delivery, which went smoothly. My husband and I were off to get married and went straight on honeymoon after, so leaving the flat to the fitters for 3 working days. We checked on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning that we would have a working toilet when we arrive back on the Sunday. ISSUE 1: No working loo left for us post-holiday When we got home on Sunday afternoon - surprise, surprise, there was no toilet. I was fuming at this stage, as if we came home later in the evening we would have had to knock on our neighbours' doors every time we needed the loo. According to the pre-installation email, we were told that it was the responsibility of Gavaska Loney, the Regional Installation Manager to ensure that the installation was done properly and in a timely manner. Rung, he was out of office. Great. Rung the installer - could not get hold of him. So I then rung the bathstore who managed to get hold of him. Our hot water was also turned off with no instructions whether it was safe to fill our boiler - they had both our numbers and no one bothered to call to give us an update. What strikes me is that there are just too many layers in this bathstore install: 1. The shop - Docklands 2. The "Regional Installation Manager" 3. The Installer 4. The Installer who manages the other installer/plumber 5. The installer/plumber Layers 1-3 did not bother to check the project at the end of week 1 to check that we had a working toilet despite being "managers". Issue 2: No respect for your property or your belongings in the flat 1. The builders were walking through my living room on a daily basis and having fags on my balcony. They did not have permission to enter my living room or smoke in my balcony - and the management company rules also do not allow for this. I have plants and balcony furniture on my balcony and this is a fire hazard. I found this out because I took a half day on the Friday (I did not tell the installers) and caught them in the act. I had seen traces of their footprints to my balcony everyday, but I had no proof that they were having cigarettes on my balcony until Friday. 2. They used my Dyson V6 without my permission to hoover up builder's dust, and subsequently this scratched the entire interior of the dust collecter and clogged up my dyson with white dust. BB resolved this quickly and said that they would replace this - was replaced within 24 hours. HOWEVER, the installer had a few confrontations with us in OUR HOME about this on the Friday when we took the half day. We took a half day mainly because we no longer trusted these two cronies in our house alone, so we arranged a half day with our respective workplaces. 3. At the start, we were asked if there was somewhere to store the new bathroom fittings - we have a spare bedroom so we said ok yes, that's fine. However, on the surprise half day, we found that actually they were using our second bedroom as a workshop - cutting tiles, sawing wood etc and putting dust everywhere. We found dust all over our wardrobe (which they did not bother to protect), under our sofa bed and in the little crevices in the room. As I am asthmatic, I hired a cleaning company to clean the second bedroom because it was unlikely they were going to clean anything up - nor did i want them to use my Dyson to do this. I will be sending bathstore this bill as well. 4. At the end of the installation, they left chippings on the floor, dust everywhere, grout on walls etc. BB came the next day to get the paper work signed and subsequently stayed for 3 hours clearing up the installer's mess. He did not fill the threshold between the hallway and the bathroom, nor did he bother to clean up even the loose dirt (see pictures). The fitter is also severely incompetent in checking the delivery - only telling us on Friday that the mirror was not delivered (some bath feet had been delivered rather than a mirror) and waited till Friday to bother telling us. We had to rush to Ikea on Saturday morning to get a replacement mirror as we did not want them to be in our house another day more given the confrontations they tried to have with us on a mistake they had made - a costly mistake, yes. But is it our fault? NO. DO NOT USE THE INSTALLATION SERVICES My biggest gripe is we are paying a very high sum of £6.5k (excluding electrics) for them to manage the project and for us to not have to deal with the hassle of managing builders. WRONG. They did not respect our property and for the prices we paid we did not expect this. This is totally unacceptable and I AM EXPECTING COMPENSATION FOR THE HASSLE AND ADDITIONAL CLEANING EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS. All in all, do not use bathstore Docklands, especially if the above named parties are involved. They are a right mess, and for the price you pay, just pay an extra £2k and go to John Lewis for an install. Or there is probably a whole host of East London builders who are more than happy and probably tidier and more competent to do your install.

Would you be nice and helpful if you were on commission ? I was I had to, no sales meant no JOB or low basic pay , look if you are about to consider making a big purchase then assume the very nice and helpful sales person is on commission and has to say nice things that you want to hear, if the salesperson was miserable and unhelpful the chemistry wouldn't work would it ? My commission paid for my many overseas hols and other little luxuries .
Written on: 17/07/2017
And your point being? I'd recommend you also go for some grammar and spelling lessons - may help you with your commission.
Written on: 17/07/2017
I'd also like to point out that non-overseas holidays are not holidays in my book. so why don't you take your attempt to show off about your commission somewhere else. Your comment has no relevance to my review whatsoever.

Who was it that was daft enough to buy from B/S ? oh it was you! hey Einstein , hope the salesperson got a good hol out of you , MUG
Written on: 19/07/2017
Again, what is your point? Your punctuation is really annoying.
Are you one of these losers who troll review websites just for the fun of it? £8.5k for central London is not an unreasonable sum, so why don't you go and do your market research before trolling review boards?
Even if the sales person had £850 that won't be enough for a holiday. It would be a really shoddy holiday and it won't even cover my hotel costs. I am happy for the sales person to take a cut. He deserved it.
If I had you as a sales person, I'm sure your smarmy attitude would've shone through and I wouldn't have bought from you. How's your commission going? Hit the higher tax band yet?

Wow such an uneducated commoner. Hey? Hey? Hey? Sorry, you don't put a space after an inverted comma before a question mark. Have you been to school? Einstein? Is that the best you can come up with?
You clearly haven't read the review properly because your attention span is so low and you cannot understand the point. I guess you do work in sales.

I am done with trying to educate you.
Hope you enjoy your cheap budget overseas holidays.

They make all the promises and take your money then it's the worst. Customer care I have ever come across. Avoid this company as they let you down time after time and never call you back when they say they will and continue to put back installation date. Now on fourth date and had products in storage for 5 weeks. Ordered and paid for new bathroom in march and we are now in June and still no install. And not even an apology. Rotten company. Go elsewhere

We spent £2500 with them. The store service was fine with lovely diagrams and sketches. Them it ALL WENT WRONG. The items arrived but we opened them AFTER SOME SCURRILOUS 7 DAY RULE THAT THEY HAVE ONLY TO FIND THAT SOME ITEMS WERE DAMAGED AND THE 2 BATH PANELS DIDN'T FIT. WE RANG THEM UP TO COMPLAIN ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT AS WE OPENED THEM UP AFTER 7 DAYS FROM DELIVERY DATE IT WAS TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I'M SO SHOCKED AND UPSET.....WE JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR "VALUED CUSTOMERS" I WOULD LOVE YOUR CEO TO COME ON AND EXPLAIN HOW AND WHY YOU DO THIS TO CUSTOMERS!!! People need to know own how POOR YOUR AFTER SALES SERVICE IS.......so should the PRESS

We placed our order for a bathroom refit and the builders arrived on 28 November 2016 to fit it in time for Christmas. Nearly four months later we are still waiting for the job to be finished. And compensation. So what went wrong? It was a combination of incompetent fitters, no supervision, poor quality product and little urgency. A few low-lights: • The builders arrived without any drawings or information and were ready to rip out the wrong door before we stopped them • They removed the toilet on the first day and would have left it on the front lawn if we had not insisted that they replace it temporarily, each evening, for three weeks • The tiles they put up were a mess with steps and irregular gaps and no thought to layout - horizontal and vertical joints did not line up • The plumbing above the bathroom was a birds nest of assorted, mismatched pipes • The flood. My wife heard the pump running and went into the bathroom to see a leak from one joint under the bath. The leak then became flood of hot, pumped water when the joint came apart • The ceiling fell in. They had skimmed the ceiling without cleaning it first and the plaster fell down when they began to paint it After two weeks of chaos and us supervising the builders every hour to stop the worst mistakes we persuaded Bathstore that we needed someone else. They provided a man who spent three days making the installation safe - there had been joints that spurted water if you touched them lightly. We had an almost- flushing toilet, a wash basin and a narrow bath in time for Christmas, but no shower and we used a fan heater to keep the room warm. In the new year two more giys stripped out all the fittings and the tiling and started again, beginning with a new ceiling. Their quality of workmanship was excellent but it was let down by the Bathstore products: cupboard doors that are warped, glass shelves that are too long for the cupboard, an intermittent shower pump, a bath where the water collects around the rim next to the tiling... All these can be fixed but Bathstore has taken a leisurely approach and we are still waiting for some. We dealt with a director and a divisional manager and a regional manager (now left) and two people in the support office. We soon learnt to copy all of them in emails because a message to one did not get passed on to the others. Don't assume that people at Bathstore talk to each other. Bathstore offered £500 compensation as a maximum and said that a higher amount could only come through the Furniture Ombudsman. We have doubts about the effectiveness and independence of this ombudsman - see the article in the Guardian We now have a website with all the gory details and links to contact people at Bathstore. Have a look and let us know if you want to add to it.

This is my thoughts exactly, there is no communication within the different parts of the company and installation team in the office is a massive joke, they lack the knowledge and professionalism . They don't seem to understand that their company politics are not our problem. I am surprise they are still surviving despite al these horror stories about them.

Bathstore survive by TV advertising and finding fresh customers who have not read reviews - like me. Eventually they will run out and wonder why sales are becoming so difficult to achieve.
What worked in our dispute with them was creating a website, bathstory, where I put photos and descriptions of what had gone wrong, all of it factual. We also put in the work emails and phone numbers of the directors. They quickly went beyond the £500 and after a bit of haggling we got half our money back on condition that we close down the website. It was well worth doing and web addresses and hosting is cheap.
Good luck with yours.

Paid nearly £3,000 for a bath and shower panels to be installed.Had problems right from the start, poor workmanship has resulted in return visits to repair and replace, it looks terrible and I calculate I have had at least 12 days off work waiting for either deliveries, site visits or fitters. 18 months on, now have water damage in hallway from leaking bath. Have been refused a refund of installation costs, and told warranty will not be extended. Avoid!!!!!
