owned 10 months, it's a 2004, with 62000 miles (never know how it managed those miles) full dealer service history. Great car when it works, when it works is the key point. esp is a disaster engine managment is also a disaster coil packs, well you be aswell just ordering them every month from the dealer. service light on all the time, take it for a service, 10 miles later the light will be back on. door seals, chewing gum will last longer and do a better job than the renault ones. All that said when it works, it really works and your smile will be ear to ear. Took mines to garage today, needing loads done again!! the work needed is greater than the cars value, if i had somewhere to store it i would strip it down and sell the parts on ebay!! that's how bad it is. avoid like the plague. Under no circumstances purchase this model, there are plenty of simaler motors to chose from civic type r, golf r32, impreza sti, etc

If you are thinking of buying a Renault 225 Sport, don't do it. I chopped in a Subaru Imprezza for one of these heaps, a decision i have regretted on many occasions.
In 17 months it's been into the dealers 4 times all for electrical problems. I have owned it from new and it now has 14.500 miles on the clock. All the work has been done under warranty but thats not the point is it.
Ive got a test drive booked in a Focus ST.
I can't wait to see the back of the Renault!

This car has almost bankrupted me! It eats tyres so expect to spend £500+ on tyres every 13k miles. Rubbish on fuel economy, high insurance & the tax is creeping up every year ( £210 this year).
Oh and in the 3 years I've owned it, I've lost £10k in depreciation alone. Check your local renault dealer out - mine are very skilled at trying to rip you off and shoddy work....but done with a smile of course!
A lot of fun at a VERY high price. If you can afford to spend that much cash, am sure there's better cars to be had.

Hi. Never had a problem with ESP, engine management or coil packs. Service light come on before the service (as it should). Have had to replace window regulators a couple of times but Renault (talk to customer services) gave me a 90% discount. Would have been free but paying something meant I got 12 month guarentee. OK, it's a renault so when it goes wrong it will cost you, on the other hand when it goes well it will put a bigger smile on your face than almost anything else.

Hi
No problems at all since February except a cracked alloy, which cost me a measly £140 to replace. I went through it a bit at the end of last year with stub axle - first one, then the other. Still doing 27-28 mpg most of that is done driving in and out of Cambridge during rush hour. Trip at night on A roads I will get 30-33 depending on how quickly I want to get there.
It's a fun car with all the gadgets including brilliantly placed audio controls (my BMW has then on the steering wheel! It keeps moving. Try to turn down when not going straight is a nightmare). The air con is much, much better than in my BMW too.
I am a bit of a Renault man. I had a 5 turbo for nearly 20 years. This was the first (of many cars I drove) that excited me more. Another great car was the 21 turbo - now that could shift!
Got the cash - get the car.
I'd love to hear if you go ahead.
PS - I've given up Renault garages.
