Good Points: Cheap as chips, light weight, great optics, adjustments crisp and definative, has actually been set to give different ranges with 16 grain pellets, that sweet sweet MAP reticule!

Bad Points: Zoom ring is a little stiff (but that is nit picking)

General comments: I got this Hawke Sport 3-9x40 M.A.P. (Multiple Aim Point) scope from BAR which has great mail order by the way.

The optics on this scope is great and it only costs just over £50!

    Fully coated High Definition (HD)
    Focus Type: Eyebell
    Eye Relief: 76mm
    Reticle Type: MAP
Windage / Elevation: 1/4" MOA fingertip turrets
    Finish: Matt Black
    Tube Diameter: 1"
    Weight: 346g
    Length: 312mm

I found the zoom to be very effective and the optics to be crisp.
The croshairs themselves give the shooter highly accurate aim points.

You sight in at 30m with 16grain pellets, and the above referance point is for 20 yards. The lower aimpoints represent 35, 40, 45 yards in .22.

The calibration of this scope means that as long as you use 16 grain pellets and have the scope on 6x magnification all the aimpoints will correspond. (.22) in .177 the ranges are different and the pellet weight is different. 8 grains I think.

I would wholly recommend this scope to anyone who wants a good MAP reticule scope that works properly and not just spots at random places like the over rated mill dot scopes.

Got the Hawke Sport scope as part of a deal from Airsportdirect (top site) and I have to say I'm very impressed.
The MAP reticule is better than a standard MILDOT, it gives you specific aiming points which are pretty much as accurate as the manufacturer claims.
The turrets are the finger adjustable type and the zoom ring has a nice resistance to it, yet can still be adjusted easily enough whilst aiming. This scope is ideal for beginners or the casual hunter and at around £55 its a barga ...
