“service rip off”

in the beginning work fine but I try to call Mexico and even without calling they can decrease my balance it went from $12 to $7 just by dialing without even having the call placed I'll never recharged my account ever this is total a rip off. stay away from penny talk (penny rip off)… Read Full Review

“It isn'tworking”

I bought a card for $10.00 it said I had over 900 minutes if I called the UK I dial in all the numbers and they say I only have 24 minutes, then they can't put the call through. I tired several times. Then I tried to call customer service, and was left on hold for so long I went to a friends and used her land line phone. “Pennytalk, Terrible service and poor customer service”

I have been trying to make a call for 6 days and every time I dial, I enter my account, pin, the number I'm calling (which I call often), and then there is just static or silence and the call doesn't go through. However, I still get charged for the call (58 cents). I already called twice this week. Today I talked to an advisor. “Issues with screen freeze”

I am happy user, for about 6 months now, on my iPhone. The only aggravation is that 2-3 times/month the screen freezes and the only way to "de-freeze" is to uninstall the app and reinstall. “Customer service isn't very good”

I called because my son is using a Penny Talk card and my long distance charged me $150 for our calls. I THINK he wasn't accessing it correctly, so we'll work that out. The reason I don't completely UNDERSTAND what's going on is that their customer service is offshored and the representative barely spoke English. “Cut off with announcement”

Used this quite a bit previously to USA - usually OK. However, recently I have got cut off in the middle of the call with an announcemen - "press 1 to make a follow on call", etc. Won't use again. I have tried different international calling cards in the past Pennytalk is far superior to all. Incredibly inexpensive, and convenient online and telephone support. Those who have complaints about connections should look into the problems on the side of the dialed numbers. I have never had any problems calling to Europe or calling from Europe to USA using Pennytalk prepaid cards. Every time I use penny talk to call southern Africa ,which is what I got it for the calls get dropped for no reason at all.I talk for five minutes and the call gets dropped.Then I redial and get told the call cannot get through at the that moment. PennyTalk offers low-cost calling. It works from my house and my iPhone. I use a mobile app, and they waive the connection fee. I did some price comparisons against other phone companies. Compared to the usual big companies I can make my calls at about 10 percent of the usual cost by using PennyTalk. That's what I kept hearing over and over. First the system kept prompting me to add more money. When I did, a recording informed me that I now needed to add another digit to the number I was trying to reach. Companies generally won't discuss a person's account without verifying whom they are speaking to. I see PennyTalk has a customer service phone number. I would call customer service for help.

I had the same problem. PennyTalk has a customer service, which they never answer (except on one occasion when a recorded voice told me to call back in one hour). When I contacted them via email I provided all the information and what they did was send me the dialing instructions (as if I hadn't done the procedure correctly!).
NOT recommended.
