    Good Points: The abby, the location, and a good demonstartion on minimum effort and complacency but still charge top wack. Will not stay again.


    Bad Points: Tierd looking, over priced for what you get. Poor ill motivated staff, complacent.


    General comments: City Hotel staff where not particulary helpful, there seem to be a lack of supervision throught, under staffed Sunday B/Fast 1 cheff and 1 waitress for a realitivly full hotel. Accommodation was very basic yet charged for standard rooms. On duty staff lacked any authority to deal with issues. Website looks good yet in reality very tierd and not particulary clean. Main Banister rail filthy, dont run your hands on ity unless taking samples for diallasis. Rooms 23,24 are minute attic rooms appers to be very basic, yet charged for standard. Room7 was tierd and lacked detail cups witout saurcers, paint on walls scratched. Smelt heavy of smoke and musty. Windows not cleaned for some years, Bathroom old and tierd, mould on sealent shower head heaily lymed up and tempreture dial not working. Staff emptied glass bins into skips at 1230pm just to keep you up. Bedding sheets clean but counterpain smell and had not been changed for some time. Bottom line is it lacked atten to detail, was not particulary clean, website gave a false impression, staff under qualified and under manned, sandard or basic room over priced

    The City Hotel is right in the heart of Dunfermline. Plenty of Historic sites to visit. A good break.
