Virgin Blue deserve a zero but the site won't allow me to give them that rating. I will never fly on any Virgin owned airlines ever again. They describe themselves as a discount airline, and the ticket was, indeed, cheaper than the competition... at least at the time of purchase. What they don't tell you is that they will nickel and dime you to death! I paid the extra money to bring checked luggage with me. But they have the scales at check in set artificially low, they charge you $10 per kilo over the allowed weight, which adds up very quickly! And they rush you, saying; "I'm only allowed three minutes to check you in. What do you want to do?" This was after I had been waiting in line for over an hour to check in for a domestic flight, which was now less than half an hour away from being due to leave-- and I still had security to go through, yet. I smell a racket! On the flight, the flight attendants were surly, unhelpful, and unless you wanted to pay them money for something, they were "only there for your safety"-- which was actually announced over the intercom! Translation: "We don't care how you feel or what you think." That cheap ticket ended up being more expensive than the competition and the service was bottom of the barrel.

Pacific Blue cancelled our flight altogether!!!! I have only given them a one star rating because I couldn't give them a zero. They offered us an earlier flight but because we would be on an international flight at that time it made it impossible for us to be there for the flight they offered, their next best offer was for the following day, which means a night in Auckland and the travel in and out of the airport, all at our cost, they have been of no help to us in any way and this has upset all ...

I was flying for work when i boarded the Virgin Blue plane and made my way to the seat i could tell the quality of the srvice would be poorby the unprofessional and somewhat degarding welcome from VB's highly unprofessional and untrained cabin crew. Shore enough half anhour into the journey i got my work laptop out to annalise some data. it was quite late in the afternoon so it ws quite dark. i attempted to turn my overhaed light on, finding it did not work. i had a look around and noticed the ...

As a first time internet customer, I made an unfortunate mistake when booking my first Virgin Blue reservation. Virgin Blue "pre-selects" baggage insurance for the customer. If you do not notice this, you just paid them $18 for something you did not want. Then, the only way they allow you to contact them is by a long distance from USA to Australia. They actually DO NOT have any means for a customer to contact them online about matters such as this. Also, I made 9 one-way reservations at th ...

Virgin Blue work like an unbreakable team dedicated to excellent quality service and perhaps the best in in-flight entertainment. The leather interior which was blue reminded me of the leather interior that was in my BMW 735i. I am now informed that the aircraft has been transformed to a red interior to match the plane exterior.

Book ahead with Austravel possibly at least two weeks (could be a little more), but not sure of the book ahead time breakpoints to get that price, it cost me about £90 return for a trip.
The trip would take all day on a train over there, as they are slow on this route, about 60 mph on what they call the Overlander. I don't know the train price?
It's 50 minutes by air plus check in time but very very efficient check-ins, lots of staff.
What more can you ask for at that price?
    The a ...

I was flying for work and as I didn't pay for the fully-flexible economy ticket, I certainly can't complain. The low prices of the ticket are perhaps the only reason to fly Virgin Blue at all. I'm not sure that there is any other reason I'd consider in the future and will be more than happy to fly with the opposition on most of my flights, business-related or personal.

One good point is that $2.50 headphones are available and you can shut out most of the incessant prattle practised by 100% ...

Visited Australia in March 2006 and flew with Virgin Blue four times, greatly impressed with their service and efficiency. Would almost certainly use them again. For the price you can't beat them.

I flew with Virgin Blue from Adelaide to Melbourne late last week. A tremendously enjoyable experience. They have managed to hold onto some core service levels even as the continue to expand rapidly. I was greeted by name with a warm genuine approach and my laptop bag was stowed for me as I was lucky enough again to score seat 1A....My favourite for extra legroom and quick exit when landed. Boarding was a "no - fuss" affair, with helpful cabin crew managing to seat everyone with speed. The crew ...

I recently flew on DJ to Adelaide. I was blown away with the Virgin Blue service levels provided from check in through to the in-flight service. I used the web check-in at home. Simply chose my seat online, printed off my boarding pass, and dropped my checked luggage off at the dedicated counter. On a short 50 minute flight, the crew were able to not only serve two rounds of refreshments, but also did it with a great smile. I fly regularly, and I found the service to be genuine, unlike my Qantas ...
