went on a saturday afternoon and was shocked by the lack of choice on offer several starters only 3 main meal choices and only 2 dessert options staff were ignorant took along time to clear the table after eating in places like wing wah and buffet island this was by far the worst buffet i have eaten in and wont be returning (read more)

I went to the oriental pearl with a group of about 20 friends and will not be returning the food was okay but ive had better at cheaper restaurants and better quality. and it seamd to take them ages to clear our plates from the table and one of my friends even found a hair in her pudding thats not a good sign and then they expect a tip after such poor serivce ..!! I would definitely recommend the Oriental Pearl to family and friends. My group of 9 friends and i had a great night there. The food was excellent, a great range, laid out very well, staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly and the restaurant was top quality. After our meal we even enjoyed the use of the karaoke!
Quite pricey, but well worth the money.
Would be especially good for large groups!

Great selection of food. Clearly marked what is what. Place is clean and tidy. Great for large parties, family gatherings, office party etc.

The food at the Oriental Pearl restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm a very fussy eater! Yesterday I tried my best to taste all the selection, but there was so much choice I could only manage half of the dishes! All the food was of exceptional quality, taste and freshness. The food was also replenished on a regular basis. There were a few dishes that you wouldn't find at typical Chinese buffet restaurants, which was a nice surprise. The desserts were fantastic! Superb quality and presentation of food. Polite staff. Good housekeeping and food hygiene practice. Value for money at lunch time (£5.90).
Although the music is a bit too loud, I would recommend the Oriental Pearl restaurant.

I always enjoy the food, but this is spoiled when I come to pay for the meal. Considering my bill always comes to around £70, I find it insulting that the staff at the Oriental Pearl have the cheek to ask for a tip. Upon my first visit to the food bar at Oriental Pearl, I was very impressed with what I saw. From then on though, it seemed to go downhill. When I went up for the main meals at about 10:00 (1 hour before the restaurant closed), I found some dishes were no longer available. Even the likes of sweet and sour chicken and crispy fried beef had all gone. I feel that if they advertise 40 - 70 dishes are available, then they should be, and not for a limited time or on a first come, first serve... (read more)

When the Oriental Pearl restaurant first opened I couldn't wait to try it as the choice for Chinese food (not takeaways) is limited in Dudley. They made a big effort welcoming customers, and the building had been refurbished to a high standard. It is a buffet style menu, or as some say 'all you can eat'. I disagree with this review because...i work in the restaurant area. when the customers pays by credit card. The card machine ask would you like to leave a Gratuity? so this not the server fault.
