I have had two of these,Hotpoint Future FFA74, the first one I was lucky enough to have taken out insurance for, it developed a fault within the first year in that items in the fridge were freezing up, the salad drawer where I kept my vegetables was always frozen and considering it was supposed to be frost free was a joke, lumps of ice forming behind the salad drawers as well. Just after the year, the bottom freezer went and ruined all the food. The engineers efforts to repair failed on three occasions, he gave up and I was given a brand new one, although still the same model, after about 6mths I noticed the same thing happening, although the vegetables in the salad drawer were not completely frozen, there are lumps of ice forming behind the drawers again which causes puddles of water to appear inside the fridge so as soon as I see it I know where its coming from, although this is not so severe as the first ffreezer it is still happening, I have also had build up of ice within the bottom freezer part whereby it has had to be taken apart and melted with a hairdryer. This surely must be a design fault that Hotpoint must be aware of as I have noticed other people reporting the same problem. I am seriously away to buy another smaller ffreezer but will stay well clear of Hotpoint and would never buy another ever again.

like many previous posters mine too broke down after 2 years, phoned hotpoint to make use of the free 5 years spare parts warranty that came with it, they said the labour would cost 159.99 spread over 10 months, if they cant fix it then they would replace it. went for this option, couldnt be repaired after 3 visits so they now offered us a brand new FF200LP for just 180 pounds actually worth between 385-515 in the shops! made up! overall the FFa74 wasnt bad over the years did the job but you'd e ...

i have the FFA74P fridge freezer. The bulb went in the fridge compartment, I replaced it with a correct lamp which may have been faulty as it blew. However the lamp supply is taken via a PCB, that went with a bang and the whole unit, ie fridge and freezer was dead. I was told to replace the board is nearly one hundred pounds, just because there is no onboard protection fuse on the PCB to avoid this. What a joke, thankyou Hotpoint that's the last product I will ever buy from you.

I've had my Hotpoint FFA74 for 4 years now and it's a great machine. Last Friday it went incredibly noisy (about a year after it started freezing food in the fridge compartment) and I was all for throwing it out and had actually ordered a new one. However, my neighbour who is an electrician told me to unplug it all, remove all the freezer drawers and if there was any ice on the plastic plate to get a steamer or hairdryer on it to defrost it. I did as was told and sure enough there was about 3 ...

Was reasonably pleased with this Hotpoint FFA74 model when I bought it two years ago. I can only get so excited about a fridge freezer! My only concern at the time of delivery was that one of salad baskets was cracked, although Hotpoint replaced it so I can't really complain on that front. However in last week the fridgefreezer has become noisy and now freezes items placed on the lower shelf (and below) of the FRIDGE. Not impressed, has ruined loads of vegetables.

General comments: AGREED WITH PREVIOUS COMMENTS After the FFA74 we will NEVER buy anything from INDESIT/ HOTPOINT again. The door mechanism that holds the fridge door together has broken, hence it's made out of plastic!! There is no way to replace this part at all. We found customer service to be poor , NOT the least bit helpful! leaks, makes loud noises, is made from plastic and ours basically has a lifespan of 18 months! a load of rubbish that now has to be added to landfill as well.THE ...

Completely broke down after 2 years. Noisy. I see Hotpoint have totally replaced this with another another model.
I plan to write to the Chief Exec of Hotpoint and ask for an explanation as to why my machine was so unreliable

Paid £350 for this Hotpoint FFA74 fridge freezer and it stopped working before I'd had it for 3 years.

Disgraceful in my opinion, I will never buy any hotpoint goods again!

My Hotpoint FFA74 Fridge Freezer is noisy and lasted 18 months hotpoint don't seem to want to know its time to get on to 'don't get done get dom'!
Poor customer services and poor communication. Quick enough to sell you the product not so fast to resolve any matters? Hotpoint you have been a total waste of my time!

Expensive, plastic trays are I think poorly designed & low quality. Appliance not fit for purpose & had to be replaced after 18 months. I cannot recommend Hotpoint. Freezer defrost light always on causing some food items to defrost. Stick to German appliances!

The Hotpoint FFA74 is a very poor and expensive product which will soon have to be replaced by a more reliable/ quality product such as Bosch. I'll never touch Hotpoint again!

Cannot maintain constant cold temperature. Lasted less than 2 years. I found the sales and support to be expensive with premium rate call centres and long waiting times.
I'd avoid if I was you.

We are disgusted with the unreliability of this Hotpoint freezer - lucky we did not get food poisoning. What about food hygiene then?
People buy Hotpoint because they USED to be good and because they believe in the guarantees and warranties.

Was very pleased with all aspects of the fridge freezer until today. We have only had it just over 2 years and temperature is low on both the fridge and freezer. We rang hotpoint and were told it would cost £89.98 just for an engineer to come out before the cost of repairs or we could join a payment plan with an extra cover for the next 12 months for ten monthly installments for £15.90. So it seems like more sense just to get a new fridge freezer. Not very good value for money its co ...
