glad I bought my humax pvr-9200t when I did, quite a few years ago. Never had any problems and amazed at the number of programmes I can record at the same time, too many to keep up with watching but easily erase if don't want to keep or watch

We, too, purchased a Humax after researching, believing it to be the best. We purchased the Humax PVR 9300T, from Currys and took out an extended 3 year warranty. We are now on our 3rd box, every one having had the same problem. We set the series link to record but after several weeks it knocks itself off and fails to record. Moreover, invariably if you set two programs to record, consecutively, the second fails to record. Fortunately, our three year warranty with Currys is still in valid, I ca ...- Read Guest's review (148 words and 1 comment)

Bought my Humax PVR-9200T a little over a week ago - after reading reviews on the net. I'd had a bad experience with the last freeview recorder I'd had (a Thomson), culminating in it failing completely. The truth is, I'd never had a digital HDD recorder that worked well - there was always something wrong with them! So I was determined to get the best one possible this time - especially if I was going to spend £200 on one!
It starts and sets up easily (though I was thrown at first by the ...- Read Guest's review (284 words)

I have now had my Humax PVR-9200T for about a year and it has been excellent. It has certainly changed how we view television and apart from the News, we very rarely watch TV when it is being shown but record it and watch it later. That way, you can skip the adverts.
It has frozen a couple of times but I have never lost anything.- Read Guest's review (100 words)

What an excellent piece of equipment. The ability to record two programs and as long as your third channel appears in one of the transmission channels, you can watch a third. Also, the ability to suck the programs off the Humax and store on DVD's etc. I have found the Humax software a bit naff though, there is a great homemade one out on the net.- Read colgster's review (86 words)

Over two years this Humax PVR-9200T machine has been reliable, and has a good specification. In fact, so good, that we seem to have moved over to always watching a recording than live. The software in the Humax PVR-9200T recorder has a few bugs that shouldn't have got into the first version, never mind persisting after updates. Two that sometimes drive me nuts is the way that if padding before or after a programme requires the recorder to make three recordings (which isn't possible), it doesn't ...- Read Guest's review (159 words)

Have lost all my recorded programmes on my Humax PVR on at least three occasions when the system freezes and was forced to reformat the drive to continue. It has also frozen on a few occasions when powering off/on was sufficient to start it again. The latest problem is that it stopped recording both manually and automatically and again I had to reformat the drive to get it recording again. Keep losing the end of programmes as it doesn't track them properly and the 10mins extra isn't enough. To ...- Read Deflon's review (164 words)

This is undoubtedly an excellent machine. I live in an area of a weak digital and the PVR9200T delivers a very good quality picture. It could be argued that this is a Rolls Royce among set top boxes. I would have rated it at 10, however read on...
Humax's customer service that I experienced was appalling. My machine still under guarantee crashed. I found it hard to get through to anyone in customer services and I dread my telephone bill when it comes through. This is the only way I can con ...- Read Pamelahunt's review (272 words)

Easy to use, ultra-reliable, neat looking, all the required features and fast operation. Loads of storage space.
Can also transfer mpg files to a computer. Brilliant.
Support for this unit has been excellent.
Regular software updates have added new features and made it more and more enjoyable to use.- Read lozblanko's review (74 words)

I replaced a twice faulty Digifusion PVRT-200 with the Humax 9200T and never have looked back. Every piece of electronic kit will have faults, mine has been fault free .
BTW the fan blows air OUT, and is a good reason for it running in order to help keep the air cool around the internal power supply board. If you want something silent-then go read a book.
Just about to fit a 750Gb disc...............
The 9200T is highly recommended and worth the extra £ £- Read Speedy Lee's review (220 words)

Good picture quality (for Freeview), large hard disk (I bought the 320GB version), ability to schedule radio recordings (but no series link available).
I've only had the box for a month so maybe I just haven't learnt the correct way to do things but it's nowhere near as intuitive to use as SKY+. I got the box because I was fed up with paying SKY £10 a month for the privilege of recording the freesat channels but maybe it's worth it to have something that's easy to use and works faultless ...- Read phit03's review (208 words and 1 comment)

Humax PVR-9200T review - I think its just a bit of luck, when we first bought our box it wouldn't pick up any of the channel 5 channels but now we are getting all channels fine. Our problem had something to do with how we positioned our Humax on the TV stand.- Read treesmoker08's review (52 words)

Fabulous reproduction of recorded material, BUT unreliable as to what is recorded. Freezes at least once a week (often more frequently). One of the gizmos included is supposed to track programmes; if starting late the humax is supposed to record 'till the resulting late end time and not once has it done so! All programme recordings are ended early by 1-3 minutes so always miss end! I can't do the add on time setting if I want to auto record a series (as explained in the additional note). Sometim ...- Read Pipistrelle13's review (163 words and 1 comment)

Very poor instructions on how to operate the device successfully - it has been a 'poke and hope' situation in trying to use the unit. I think I am getting there. Will need to write my own instruction manual. I have only had the unit for three days so in time might resolve these niggles. As mentioned above an instruction manual which was clear and concise would be useful.- Read Guest's review (85 words)

I have to say that the Humax pvr 900t is the best electrical item that I have ever purchased, it has features that I never dreamt were available on a freeview set & a solid heavy feel & quality that you used to get from Sony in the 1980s. The good points out weigh the bad ones by far & after owning this set for 6 months I am not one bit surprised it has gone up £20 since I bought it.
It has a fantastic menu for previewing programs & to set them to record you simply highlight & press ok. ...- Read ivycottage's review (168 words)

My first PVR and I am over the moon with everything about it. I particularly like the feature that, when you pick a prog' to record, if it is part of a series, the Humax prompts you to chose if you want it to just record that one prog' or automatically set to record the whole series. Great!- Read Mr Jelly's review (102 words)

The Humax PVR-9200T lets you do everything that sky+ does but on freeview. You can record straight off the TV guide. Can record 2 channels while watching a third. Can record a whole series. One problem is that the tuner is so sensitive you may pick up the wrong transmitter. I initially picked up the Midlands channels even though I live in the Northwest. I think other users may have had this problem and not realised.- Read Guest's review (79 words)
