Good Points: Well made Well priced Lots of pockets
Bad Points: Too much Velcro!
General comments: I purchased the BSA carbine rucksack with my BSA Ultra a few weeks ago. I actually asked for the Logun Carbine Rucksack, but the shop I used was out of them, so they contacted me to ask if I would be willing to take the BSA model, and I am glad I did. Not only was it a few pounds cheaper, but it does everything I need it to do.
The main storage compartment is very spacious, enough for most carbines with the largest scope imaginable, and with Velcro tabs to hold the gun in place. The smaller guns (such as mine) do not get shaken about.
There is a plethora of pockets on the outside, ranging from about 2 inches across, to one a small guinea pig could nest in. This larger pocket holds two tins of pellets, some mounts, a laser sight that I have not attached yet (I'm getting there), and other odds and ends. The smaller pockets hold even more stuff (and I have lots of stuff) with acres of room to spare.
The main compartment is zippered, and (clever thinking here) when you are carrying the rifle on your back, the zip (when closed) is at the top so there is no chance of the gun falling out. I know that sounds obvious, but you would be surprised at some manufacturers.
Talking about the rucksack, when you are wearing this as a rucksack it is extremely comfortable. The shoulder straps come with big movable pads to stop the straps digging into you, and there is a little click strap to connect the shoulder harness' together to make sure they do not slip off your shoulders.
The only downside is the small outside pockets all close using Velcro, and I was a bit wary in case these opened and spilled their precious cargo all over the fields as I trudged either away, or towards home. This has not happened yet, but I have stopped using these pockets just in case.
All in all, I think this is a great rifle bag, and very good value for the money (Uttings.com have it for about £34 I believe). Once I have had it for a few more months and put it through it's paces I will let everyone know.
