Good Points: The Game is fantastic from a managing point of view as you control pretty much everything in your city.
Bad Points: Although in 'Caesar 3' you can create legions to help defend your city, the battle action is not to impressive. There is no online multiplayer. It is not suitible for people that dont like buisness games, these people will find it boring.
General comments: When I first started playing 'Caesar 3' I found it very frustrating. My city did not grow, it lost money, my people had no food and barbarians where attacking. But fortunatly for me the game has tutorial based missions which sharpen the players skills at running a Roman City, and once you know what your doing, the game becomes much more interesting. My city started to grow and everything was going well. At this stage I thought the game was geting a bit boring, however there is always somthing to keep you on your toes in 'Caeser 3', you might run out of workers, your people can become unhappy and riot and there is always the looming threat of attacks from troublesome neighbours.
The graphics in the game depend on your system and whether you choose a minimum or full instalation, but if you like strategic, money making games then the graphics are not as important. If you like all that with some action thrown in then 'Caesar 3' gives you that action but it is nothin special. The fighting between armys is unorginised and it only lasts 2-3 minuits at most.
When it comes to running your city, you control everthing from trade to taxes. You are incharge of your city's education, health, entertainment and their jobs. All the monet making factors add up to a very interesting game, where things can go very well, or very badly depending on your skill.
Compared to games like 'Rome Total War', 'Caesar 3' is not much when it comes to huge battles with awsome Roman legions, but when it comes to managing the citys of the empire, Caesar can not be beaten.
However, do not buy this game if you dont like running buisnesses but that is what Caesar 3 really is, a buisness game. The target, is to make money.
