Good Points: Price is relatively cheap
Bad Points: 1. Infamous flight delay 2. Flight attendants, although not rude, are not friendly. Few smiles / greetings from attendants, who either have blank face or rather talked to each other. 3. They will skin you for as much as possible - from express boarding to checked-in bag charges to excess baggage charges (even if only 1kg in excess weight) to inflight food / drinks to insurance etc. I suspect, they might want to charge for a smile (from their flight attendants) next. 4. Pathetic ground service - an email to its customer support would generate standard auto-reply stating they can't attend to your emails due to overwhelming number of emails they receive daily. Very hard to get through to their call centre agents because lines have been engaged. Call centre agents were not equipped with sufficient information to attend to queries.
General comments: I have flew by AA many times (ok, despite the poor service because it's cheap) and it would appear that customer satisfaction is not one of the airline's main priority. I find that the airline standards are falling since they have grown from a small little player to become leading airline in the budget segment.
I hope that other airlines would enter the budget segment and give them a more heated competition. This would serve as a major wake-up call to Air Asia for.

Just flew from Australia to KL return with Air Asia on a cheap airfare. After booking the flight I read some bad travel reviews and was concerned about flying. Given that Air Asia is a low cost airline we thought it was great. Both flights left on time, the second one even arrived early. Booking online was straight forward, you knew exactly what you were paying for. The service on board was great, check in was easy and relatively quick, the pre-booked meals were good. There was also a ch ...

AK5628 Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu 30 AprilVery poor service and conduct of business! On this flight they wanted to start charging for sporting equipment essentially penalizing primarily travellers who come and support the tourism industry of Malaysia.Plus while flying Air Asia the previous month and on a separate journey an acquaintance took, we were both allowed to combine our partners' check in baggage into one bag but divide the weight between two (something I've done several times on other ...

Recently took two flights with air Asia both on time both with good service and both very cheap only downside small allowance for baggage which for a family on a three week holiday can cost you.

Modern aircraft; good on board experience. Reliability - three flights cancelled. Boarding experience at KL - the express boarding charge is worthless because it is not organised properly. Everyone just pushes to the front. Good if you don't mind having your flight cancelled. Otherwise spend more money on a reliable airline

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. There is a reason why the prices are so low. First off, let's start with the airport. It is very disorganised, with no proper signage or anyone to ask where to check. You have to go through security before you can check in. The self-check in closes one hour before take off, but it doesn't say that anywhere, even on the machine, it just keeps giving errors. Once you get into the long long lines to check in and the board says open, the ...

I went to Bali and chose Airasia because it has no history of any incidents. This is the only reason I chose it. As for value of money or service, it is JUST NOT worth it. The engines may be well maintained but the airline service in Indonesia is ALWAYS LATE. ALWAYS. 2Hours or even 6 Hours. If you are lucky they will inform you. Otherwise, your can sit at the airport and wait. I just don't know why they don't assign a seat number. The boarding pass has a section for seat number, but they don't b ...

Poor service. When you book your ticket, they don't notify you of the fact that they don't carry your luggage for free, and you have to pay for each kilo of your luggage.
We booked two tickets from the web site and paid by a card. We still didn't get any confirmation by email or any other means that our booking was received. When I try to check the details on the site, it says there no such booking. So what do we do now? We don't really know. I guess we will book again with a different airline, ...

You can't do better from the West Coast to Asia. Booked online with Air Asia, and took a chance with seating... which worked out well, as we got 4 seats together.

It was such a terrible experience that we will definitely never fly Air Asia again. I do not recommend anyone should fly with this airline unless you do not mind spending your precious time waiting at airports. It is worth paying a bit more if there are other options, so that you can enjoy your trip more.

They broke my suitcase and made a wholly inappropriate repair in order to fulfil their basic responsibilities. This repair failed on the next flight 5 days later. I gave up trying to get satisfaction from them, and I bought another bag for US$27 in BKK. As far as I'm concerned Air Asia lost their credibility for the princely sum of US$27.

Overall, I would say that Air Asia links well to the current Far East locations. Cheap to everyone coming from "so called rich" countries. On time, hence value for money. Food must be considered "Not Available" even if I had to vote it anyway.
It is a budget line, no food, no reserved seat, and therefore it is understandable they are strict on following their own rules. However, anyone who wants to use it must be aware the luggage allowance is strictly 15kg.

Flight was fine but the hassle in trying to pay the excess luggage fees (which pretty much apply to everyone as their limits are very low) was a nightmare - took over an hour due to the staff.
Would not recommend to anyone.

My son and I flew Air Asia from Kuala Lumpur to Penang (45 mins). We paid £80 in total for the return flight which I thought was excellent value for money.
The outward flight to Penang was excellent. It was on time and the plane was clean. It was only half full so there was lots of space. Tea/coffee and sandwiches were very good value.
The return flight from Penang to Kuala Lumpur had a timing problem. I thought that we were leaving at 1pm but was told that the flight was not in fact ...

Bangkok to Singapore (2.5 hour flight) for $50 return with Air Asia. For that price, I would have been happy to sit in the luggage hold. The flight was actually nice, with lots of smiles from the staff (they're Thai). The planes are a bit old but super clean, and always on time (I flew Air Asia on 4 occasions).
The only bad point is that there is no food. I know it is a no-frills airline, but some of their competitors (One-Two-Go) in the similar price range actually offer a free snack and a d ...
