Never again....just try to get the service engineer to come and fix any problems in less than 3 weeks. 1st visit to assess the problem £75.00, 2nd visit to fix it, costing parts + 50% mark up and at least a 2 week wait for parts. You can buy your own parts for next day delivery, but Smeg customer care will give you no information on how to fit them no matter what. They insist you call one of their accredited engineers who will then hold you to ransom. I have just had this problem with the electronic timer which has blown. The new version has changed and thus is not a straight swap. 4 weeks on we are still trying to find out how to fit it and the engineer has now "gone on holiday" The oven cannot get any power without it.

A true case of style over substance. The writing was on the wall from day one when it arrived without a connecting downpipe for the gas. I thought a phone call to SMEG customer services would soon sort it. No, the person I spoke to wouldn't believe me that they had sent out a faulty item, three calls and an e-mailed photograph of the back of the cooker and I was eventually believed.
the second cooker was fine until about 17 months in when the grill element went, a call to customer services and ...- Read idjutboy's review (146 words)

We inherited this Smeg SUK 91MFX with the purchase of a new house. I followed the other review here and have just replaced a broken element myself. This cost only £25 for the replacement part from Smeg-Services. The oven now works perfectly and it was a 5 minute job to replace.
Don't bring in a professional, you can do it yourself!
The only issue I had is that the new part didn't have an earth connection (green/yellow) but the advice of a friend was it isn't really necessary a ...- Read ChopsyLeeds's review (123 words)

The Smeg SUK 91MFX is a truly horrible cooker that I regret buying. The oven now gets to a certain temperature then turns itself off for 5 minutes then on for 5 minutes right the way through until I finally turn it off. An engineer has been out 3 times and has not managed to fix it. The list of faults in the years that I have had this seem endless. Friends have had no better experience. It's a classic case of form over funtion. I actively discourage anybody from buying a Smeg.- Read Guest's review (116 words)

This Smeg has been the most over priced "so called" high quality product I have ever purchased in any area of my life. From the moment two weeks after I bought it when one of the gas ignition circuits failed, through the drawer front falling off, the oven rack clips snapping (so that the shelves routinely collapse and fall out) the grill temperature control snapping, the knob markings wearing off within months as if they'd been painted on with water colours, the fan blowing up, I could go on... ...- Read Guest's review (231 words)

When we bought this cooker, we genuinely believed that we were making a wise decision by paying a bit more for a "good" brand. It has been a complete disappointment, and I would certainly never buy another Smeg appliance after this experience. The fan element giving out AGAIN on Xmas eve was the final straw, and we are cutting our losses, taking it to the dump & replacing it with a cheap gas cooker.- Read Sarah500's review (163 words)

I would not buy another SMEG product after having the SMEG SUK 91MFX 90cm Range Cooker. I believe I paid for the name, and not the quality of the product!- Read pulleet's review (63 words)

The SMEG SUK ovens look like good value for money and a stylish addition to your kitchen, but don't be fooled!
Ours is now about 4 years old and although the stainless exterior is wearing well the durability of the elements in the oven is lacking ( I would say design fault or seriously cheaply made). Our oven fan elements both failed at about 1.3 years. The cost of callout and fitting was £180 ! I watched repair man spend 5 minutes changing the elements! The cost of new elemets is actuall ...- Read louisv's review (206 words)

The bloody element on the SMEG SUK 91MFX 90cm Range Cooker has gone for the second time - once at 13-months and again at 15-months (both outside warranty). I regret buying this, and in fact, would never buy a SMEG item again. The documentation is absolutely the worst I have seen. It gives you no real info on how to use the different cooking settings - avoid at all costs.- Read ianhbaxter's review (80 words)

Our SMEG SUK 91MFX gas cooker is about 2 years old. It has failed 4 times so far. 2 elements in the oven have failed on separate occasions. The thermo couples on the burners have failed on 2 occasions which results in the burners not remaining alight.
It is impossible to contact SMEG, and all calls end up at Servicefast who seem to be a separate company with a very poor concept of customer service.
This is without question the worst purchase I have made, it is only mitigated by the insu ...- Read paulgrossman's review (183 words and 1 comment)
