“TOTAL RELIABILITY”

★★★★★

written by on 15/02/2013

I'VE HAD OTHER NAME BRAND LASER PRINTERS AND I CAN SAY THIS ONE IS THE MOST RELIABLE, USER FRIENDLY PRINTERS AT A REASONABLE PRICE. MINE IS NOW 5 YEARS OLD AND STILL PERFORMING PERFECTLY. THE ONLY REASON I WOULD REPLACE IT IS TO GET ONE WITH A LARGER PAPER SUPPLY HOLDER. THANKS, BROTHER, FOR A GREAT PRINTER.

The Brother MFC-7820N is an excellent multifunction printer for the money. Most suited to a small office/limited number of users. We have ours in the accounts department, as it would soon get damaged in a knockabout environment.

It scans well, even to Macintosh. It is irritating that the fax from desktop is not Mac compatible. Flawless print operation, but heavy graphics can delay printing for anything up to a minute.

Very economical with toner. Multiple sheet feeder is a lot more reliable than any other machine we have used. Some of the reports are difficult to obtain, and there must be a way to cancel a fax to a wrong number, but once it has rung off it is not easy to identify which fax from a multiple batch is the guilty one.
But these are only small issues, and for £199 + VAT from Printerbase, it is nothing less than a bargain.

An excellent workhorse of a multi function printer, it does what it says on the box, nothing outstanding, but it prints monochrome either from USB or network, it works faultlessly as a fax and copies like a trojan, what more can you ask? I would not reccomend refilled toner cartridges, I tried to save money and buy one, but then just had the hassle of getting my money back and buying a new one.

written by janolsen on 25/01/2006

I bought the Brother 782N multifunction printer as a replacement for an HP 7110, which gave up the ghost. A small office environment is the right place for this machine.

Set-up was problem free, and so far it works perfectly printing, copying and faxing all day long without putting a foot wrong.

It is heaps better than the retired 7110, which a Brother courier collected and gave me an extended warranty (or £25, which ever you prefer) for returning it for recycling.

If you need an all-in-one machine for your SMALL office then pick this one.

Brother 7820N is overall a good printer but would recommend buying the 7820 model that comes without the print server and then attaching an external print server via usb.
