Bad Points: Slider and flaps wear out easily, couldn't get it working with my email.
General comments: Reasonable web browser for a phone of it's age, good buttons, simpler than the N95.
If you like Nokia's general style of interface and want a phone with it's functions, it's value for what it does. There are better phones around now though. Well recommend Nokia N80.

The connections on the slide appear to be poor. When I open the slide the phone will often drop of the connection, lose the screen, this has gotten worse to the point that I have to jiggle the side to see the screen, it is all white. The screen comes back and then drops out again if I slightly move the phone. The camera is poor unless you are holding it VERY STILL it is all blurred. First and last slide phone I will buy.- Read Guest's review (94 words)

Without question the Nokia N80 is the worst phone i have ever had. Perhaps the worst consumer item at all, terrible in every way. its slow, software breaks down all the time, been sent back seven or eight times, to send a text takes about a whole minutes after you press the send button. Really really bad.- Read Guest's review (66 words)

One of the worst phones I've ever had, it seems like they have tried to squeeze to much technology onto one handset and never bothered to iron out the kinks. The simpler things that I take for granted with a handset, i.e. Text messaging become a chore!!!- Read lewed1982's review (75 words)

The very first thing I noticed was that the sound quality on normal calls is terrible - weak and tinny. Reception is poor and the battery life is pathetic.
Then, the main feature I had bought the phone for - the Wi-fi connectivity - simply would not retain settings. I was prompted for passwords I had already entered and this happened over and over again. The phone would not retain those either. When I did manage to connect (by re-entering every setting each time I wanted to use email) I disco ...- Read Martin 2's review (235 words)

I bought my N80 second hand. Before I did I read mixed reviews. What mobile and stuff magazine have it as their top smart phone. Some people don't rate it at all. When I got the phone it had Vodafone branded firmware. By doing a bit of reading I found that you can replace this very easily with a free program, the included data cable and Nokia's own upgrade software. Since doing this the phone is a much better animal. its true the battery life isn't good. Saying that though, none of the so called ...- Read thedeester1's review (284 words)

I must admit I was the first to complain that the N80 got slower and slower and sending a text message which should be a quick and easy thing to do was a nightmare cause it was taking up to 4 minutes to send a message and meant the phone froze so you couldn't use it until the message had sent. It was driving me mad that I couldn't wait till I could upgrade, which i have been able to early. I then found out that the Nokia software on the phone needs updating to keep it performing well, which I ha ...- Read sarahannew's review (173 words)

I've always had Nokia Phones, I liked the look of the N80, though it is a bit heavy and on reflection a bit wide. However the software and general basic function failures have been a nightmare, to be fair to Orange they've constantly replaced the handset, though every replacement has been poor. I contacted Nokia UK customer service, who, and if you've tried them I'm sure you'll already know this, just DO NOT CARE about it's customer base. As a result, Nokia can go into liquidation for all I care ...- Read amandamalc's review (183 words)

The Nokia N80 is a work of genius. It has a large screen, two cameras (one of which is 3mp), allows you to browse the web either over 3g or wifi, and is one of the most powerful phones available.
The N80 is a fully functioning multi-media system. I have recently downloaded some software to my N80 which allows me to watch full length movies on it in full quality. When shrunk to the phone's size I can fit over 8 feature films on my 2gb memory card. It also comes with an impressive mp3 playe ...- Read YourDirector's review (363 words)

I have never known anything use battery power like this thing you will get 1/2 hour talk if you are very very lucky, but in order to talk in the first place you will have to be stood next to a phone mast as the signal strength is possibly the worst I have ever seen. I took the phone back tried new batteries and still the same I was going to smash it. In the end I gave it to a friend who carries the charger around in her handbag for obvious reasons the phone is still causing me problems as I am n ...- Read mccant's review (142 words)

I bought this phone because I thought it was cutting edge technologically. It does have many functions and features and if you are willing to explore and use all of its functions, then it will reward you. If you are a simple phone user who wants to make calls, text, take the odd picture and listen to music through your phone, then buy something else. The N80 is a smart phone, meaning you can download and install various programmes on it. It is capable of showing TV programmes and has a decen ...- Read DELTAGOLF's review (148 words)

Totally disappointed with Nokia when it came out with the N80 phone, I started using it when it first launched. Shouldn't have launched when the functions are soo incomplete.. took me one min to send an sms, and phone battery lasted only less than 3hours after taking a few photos. Had to upgrade it before functions are complete.. I have been a full Nokia user all these years, and this phone really made me turned by back on Nokia from now on.- Read tracybayb's review (112 words)

Maybe I've been lucky but my Nokia N80 has been totally reliable. It's a little slow to start up but when it's going, I've had total reliability. The best thing about this phone is its versatility. I now carry just one gadget. I'm so impressed. If you want a phone/radio/music player/camera/PDA this is it. Look no further!
I regularly use the music player, the FM radio, the camera and business applications. I have ditched my Palm Tungsten T3, my Nokia 6230, my Sony mp3 player and my Olympus di ...- Read grahamdaly's review (486 words)

What a mistake! My biggest phone regret ever (currently up to no. 3). My Nokia N80 does everything a regular slim handset can do, with the exception of WI FI which is next to useless, at half the speed, triple the size, and a fraction of the battery life!- Read michael6271's review (90 words)
