Good Points: Good location, good food, clean and tidy, and great friendly staff.
Bad Points: Not ideal for those people who want to live there holiday in the hotel all the time. Bikes, bikes, bikes and cyclists.
General comments: My wife and I went on holiday alone for the first time in 22 years (kids stayed at home). We decided to go somewhere where the climate was similar to the UK, and somewhere we could mooch around and explore. Holland was ideal for this, as everywhere was reachable within each day, and the hotel we chose (Campanile in Gorinchem) allowed us to run at our own pace.
Things not to miss when visiting Holland are:- The fishing towns in the north. The giant causeways that link parts of Holland together, and are awe inspiring when you travel across them. There are great beaches when you actually find them. Utrecht Zoo is well laid out, and the outdoor history of Hollands houses and Windmills near Arnhem was a great day out. You also have Amsterdam, with boat rides around the waterways, which are a must, and Rotterdam with boat trips around the busiest port in the world, which was a big highlight to our laid back holiday.
The hotel we picked was right by the main motorway, and this gave us ideal access in every direction to Holland. The only drawback during the whole two weeks were the cyclists who run the whole place and impede you in every way possibly known to man, and not even any Lycra in sight.
