Good Points: Styling (with optional 19 inch rims), performance, fuel economy, handling, low emissions (tax saving).
Bad Points: Extras too expensive, licence at risk (this is a deceptively fast car).
General comments: I have had my BMW 535D for 3 weeks, and I have to say it is by far the best car I've ever owned. It only comes in auto, which is new to me, but it suits the car's diesel engine perfectly. This is a very fast car. Don't be fooled by the D on the boot lid for a diesel. These figures are amazing - 270+bhp and 560 Nm of torque, whilst returning 27+ mpg. Regular motorway journey's will see that figure rise to 30+mpg. You have to be very careful on the motorway as this car finds three figures on the speedo a little too easily for my liking, although the standard cruise control comes in handy to prevent that. With the optional 19 inch rims coupled with the sports suspension, it gives the car a firm but very controlled ride, especially through the corners. As my car is a company car, the low emissions suit me, reducing my my tax costs. Build quality is typical BMW, being excellent. The extras as always are way over-priced, but some, such as the leather trim and hands free telephone, I feel are important extras to have, as they are not only useful to me, but assist in the residual value of the car in the future.
All in all this is a fantastic car, having in my opinion, everything you need in a car and, I would definitely recommend one.
