Good Points: i love the colour of my phone as i have the orange one this was what first attracted me to the phone in the first place, i find it fantastic that i can then opt in to change the colour if i get bored of the orange which i did once for a 3month period and opted in for the silver.
Bad Points: there isnt really anything bad that i could say about this phone it has been the best phone that i have ever owned. i recently brought the W580i which lasted all of a month before i had to go back to the W550i.
General comments: i absolutly love this Sony Ericsson W550i phone i have had it for 3 years maybe 4 years and had to change it 3 times due to the swivle because i broke them the latest one has broke due to general wear and tear but has lastest a hell of a long time as brougth it secondhand from a mate last christmas of 2007.

I think that w550i is a very good mobile because it has everything you need. The only thing is that is too big but that is a major problem so i think people should buy it. It's perfect it has covers for girls and boys and that is very good. I have this mobile from my birthday and it is wow. The speakers are great and the radio is super!- Read Tina13's review (109 words)

If games and music are important to you then the Sony Ericsson W550i is not a bad phone. Some of the software is getting a bit dated so things like mp4 will be a problem. I have heard of people having problems with the bluetooth and software crashes but I personally have never had these problems. I marked down that I wouldn't recommend this phone to a friend because there are better phones out there. I don't regret getting this phone but I wouldn't get another one.- Read DEISCORPUS's review (154 words)

I have had my Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone since October 2005, and I have hardly had any problems with it. The headphones malfunctioned while I was on the bus, and my (rather embarrassing) music was broadcast for everyone! Also, the message "Inactive SIM" keeps popping up, and I have to turn my phone off then on again before it will work. It has some very nice features though. It has some quite exciting themes, although it could maybe benefit from a few more. The sound quality is good, The c ...- Read joanna182's review (254 words)

I've had my Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone replaced once due to it completely freezing and being totally unusable. With both phones I found the reception to be quite poor, and phone calls would suddenly end due to no signal, yet when the call has ended the signal is at full strength. As with all Sony Ericsson's, I feel they appear to develop their handsets which are a cut above the rest in functions and style, however, they seem to be unwilling to update their software for their phones, and as ...- Read rachelcaines's review (169 words)

I regret buying the Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone. It has lots of good features, but no more than any other mobile phone. The screen turns to plain white as if you're holding a white torch, and the same problem has occurred to other W550 owners. If you're willing to take the risk then you can try this mobile phone, but I don't recommend this phone!!!- Read nathann's review (76 words)

The little bit on top of the Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone could have been used as an aerial for the radio, but overall it is a good phone! I've had mine for about 7 months now, and I'm still not bored with it! So there's definitely a lot of good stuff about it!- Read michaelwarrenuk's review (111 words)

This phone is great - I had this phone for my 15th birthday and nothing wrong has happened to it. The music on it is excellent and it plays to a high quality. The camera is also good with loads of functions to use with it even though some of the pictures I have taken are a bit blurred but that doesn't really bother me. The games on this phone are amazing and you can turn the phone to use it as a games console which I think is really good. My phone hasn't blanked out yet which most people have sa ...- Read krazyk8's review (233 words)

I had my Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone for just 10 weeks, and it froze twice in this short time. It will not clear, even if the battery is removed. Sony Ericsson did not want to know when I asked for a new phone when it failed for the second time, and they did not reply to my e-mails.
Very poor phone, and a very poor company.- Read IAN CARTER's review (80 words and 1 comment)

I've had my Sony Ericsson W550i for less than a day and now there is a white screen which will not come off. I've tried taking the battery out, etc., and there is no change, My advice is to read as many reviews as you can because it seems that this is a recurring fault.- Read Alex2006's review (63 words)

My Sony Ericsson W550i was a replacement upgrade for a Nokia 6230, which I had use last year. First to note is that this phone is a little bigger than the Nokia. This is due to the swivel screen and the speakers built-in to the body.
Boot up time is a little slower, but if you turn off the Walkman only choice, then it does get a little quicker. This Walkman only feature is good for listening to music where you can't have a phone switched on.
Operating the phone is the usual Sony Ericsso ...- Read justinallsop's review (505 words)

I bought the Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone because it was a good price for a piece of true practicality and brilliant technology.
I had a Sony Ericsson K500i which was sadly taken out of production because of too many bugs, but mine never missed a beat, and I missed it after I dropped it in a pool, so I went back to SE, and to a phone that was £50 cheaper and does everything a Samsung does and more, and it is easier to use with a better memory to boot.
The only bad thing I can say ...- Read leilam's review (274 words)

This is from a 24 year old woman's point of view:
The Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone is excellent. It is a real technological gem. It does everything my Samsung D500 did and more!
The radio is a great feature, although having the earphone extension to make it work is quite inconvenient, but that aside it's great for me to use on the move. It is also very easy to copy CD's to PC to phone. I hoped it might store more music, but at the end of the day it is a phone/video/camera/Filofax/mini g ...- Read ebony123's review (244 words)

As a faithful Nokia girl the Sony Ericsson W550i mobile phone was a brave move by myself, but I totally love it to bits. I used to own a V80 and I always wanted something in an unusual design but with Nokia speed - this is it. The transfer of music is very easy, and playback is stunning, especially through earphones. The looks are so quirky I adore it. I've got the Nokia in the kitchen drawer, but do not think it will be coming out again somehow.- Read amnesiac69's review (101 words)

I love the Sony Ericsson W550i! I couldn't wait for it to come out on a decent network (only on o2 and Vodafone currently - urgh) so I bought it SIM free. £219 from Carphonewarehouse - Cheap as chips! What can I say? I love it to bits. The best phone I've ever used. Now where to start...
Well, it's a Walkman branded phone so it's logical I start with how good it does playing music. Plugging in the bundled Sony-E headphones I initially thought "Eww. That is poor". However, chucking them ...- Read Goonerz4eva's review (1634 words and 2 comments)
