    Good Points: This is Christmas.
    This song returns every year.


    General comments: Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" IS Christmas. Put the decs up, shops all full of Christmas stuff but it isn't till I hear this song that I can really get into the Christmas spirit. On the T.V. or radio, background music in a shop, or whenever I hear it first, then I feel like Christmas is near!

    Not a Christmas has gone by since it was first released in 1973 without this song being played. It is well and truly the best Christmas classic ever, and as the brilliantly loud gravel pitched but tuneful cement mixer voice of Noddy Holder sings out - "It's Christmas!!!!" And you just know it is!!

    I make no apologies for the fact that Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade is the definitive Christmas song in my eyes. I love Noddy Holder and Slade and when from the very first scream this song has me reaching for the air guitar.

    When we go Christmas Shopping the only thing that makes it bearable is this track, which thankfully pops up in every shop we tend to go on. Christmas songs these days are useless, boring pap and often don't even have a proper Christmas theme. I hope Noddy and the fe ...
