I have tried every Irish Cream (some "so called") that I've been able to find in my local stores. I had tried Carolans in the past and was not impressed. Most recent "find" is St. Brendan's - absolute closest to Bailey's if that's your preference, and very reasonable. Was out of town recently and only alternative to Baileys ($30.00)in store was Carolans, so bought a bottle. It was even worse than I remembered. Back home now, and the Carolan's will sit with what remains in it since we stocked up… Read Full Review

To compare I bought and drank Baileys, Amarula and other cheap and 2 other pricy cream liquers.... but at this is the best so far interms of being genuine. Its not only well priced compared to its competition....especially when there is a sale, but its also thick in feel and taste. You get the best of both worlds of quality/taste and price. I think when you compaire it with Baileys and Amarula its just a matter of brand recognition that put the two ahead interms of pricing. I like things that… Read Full Review

Hello, I wanted to contact you and thank you for the wonderful product you produce. My husband and I enjoy you Carolans Irish Cream weekly. We make coffee on Saturday and Sundays and love the creamer. We buy our bottle at Bob's Wine and Liquor in Knoxville, TN and the price is great. The reason I am writing is the bottle it self is not pouring freindly. Once it is open the spout becomes messey and leaks down the sides. We will continue to purchase your product because we love it but I… Read Full Review

I love everything about Carolans, the smooth caramel-like flavour. Baileys tastes powdery by comparison - yuk. I`ve told friends and relatives about it and converted many of them to Carolans since I always used to have it in the house for them to sample. However just lately I can`t find a local shop that stocks it, not even the big supermarkets. I was wondering why this is? It has more than doubled in price and I can`t afford £14 a bottle. I will have to put it on my Christmas list! (At it`s… Read Full Review

I don't understand the 5* reviews, they are clearly to promote the drink. I bought it because it is cheaper than Baileys but wish I hadn't. After one taste I looked at the ingredients on the bottle and it lists 'made wine' which does not taste remotely like whisky. Despite being several percent less strong than Baileys, the unpleasant aftertaste of Grappa really persists. No wonder they try to cover this up with honey. Eugh. Also it is much thinner than Baileys, more like milk. It is cheaper… Read Full Review

Recently got an unopened 750ML bottle of Carolans Irish Cream from my in-laws that they had just bought, and went to pour some in a glass and nothing came out. Looked into the bottle and it looked like it was wax or was coated over. Upon further inspection the entire bottle was a giant chunk of goo. I put in a chopstick and stirred it around and when I pulled it out it was a bunch of little chunks. I am assuming wherever they got it from it had been exposed to excessive heat as the bottle… Read Full Review

I used to drink Baileys regulary but as prices increased decided to make it a mission to find a cheaper alternative, after trying EVERY Irish Cream on the market Carolans came out tops!
The taste for me is far nicer than Baileys, smoother and added bonus much much cheaper!
I now treat myself to a large glass of Carolans daily and absoleutly love this drink.
I have recommended to many of my friends and they all agree it is the nicest irish cream.
Over the last couple of years i have consummed… Read Full Review

I had been drinking the cheaper Irish Cream by O'Grady's, but because it didn't stock it in the local supermarket, I switched to Carolans and I am so glad that I did. The number one reason that gives it it's quality is the lovely after taste of the honey. Delightful and definitely now sticking with it...Obviously I would have liked to have known what it said on the bottle about the honey and no bitter after taste, but I suppose we have to buy it first to confirm that… Read Full Review

Alright in hot chocolate or coffee, but not even close to Baileys for flavor and a good kick of Irish whiskey. It was a bit watery and overly sweet. I could taste the honey and it just didn't work for me. The thing I disliked the most though was the strong, almost buttery flavor of the cream. Very sickly. For sure it's a bit cheaper than Baileys but like I said really only alright in a hot drink for my taste… Read Full Review

Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur is great in coffee, shots, or over ice. It's got a slight sweetness, but that makes it better in most drinks, helps to bring a unique appeal. This is the only Irish Cream I will buy… Read Full Review

Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur is sweeter than Baileys, but you can still taste the whiskey, so I really like it! And I liked the little bottles. We bought a 4 pack to go to an outdoor concert and chose Carolan's over Baileys because of the bottle design. Luckily we ended up liking it too!
Why is Baileys so expensive anyway?
I really like it. Why do we all analyse and criticize down to the last molecule. This is a good drink!… Read Full Review

It's a great desert drink, and half the price of Baileys, and I think it tastes the same.

Very ' moreish' probably should be banned!!! MUST be bad for the waistline. It has a lovely, smooth, creamy, comforting texture and flavour, but Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur is a little on the sweet side… Read Full Review

Selling for roughly half the price of Baileys the flavor of Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur is betrayed by a synthetic caramel smell that leaves a slight aftertaste. Ingredients aren't as good, particularly the cream.
I would use Carolans in coffee or perhaps mixed drinks, but it is at best a mediocre Baileys clone. It does taste OK, but that is all… Read Full Review

Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur tastes almost as good as Baileys. Had a little more of a "bite". I suspect that the residue was because it was not that fresh. Even Baileys will go bad and turn to jelly if left in the refrigerator for a year. There is a number on the label which contains what looks like a date. If it is a date, the bottle I had was over a year old. Next time, I will look for a more recent date… Read Full Review
