I have owned a Walther LP53 for many years, to give you some idea I paid £8 [British pounds] for it. That was second hand from a shop, when we had shops selling these things in the UK! It came in a cardboard box with the wooden loading aid [long ago lost] and differing front sight blades[2] and rear sight elements[2] to suite individual taste. I also have the factory test group originaly provided. I bought this pistol because I had a similar one and sold it.... and regretted it !
This pistol is as accurate as I am, at short, air pistol ranges, but definitely no power house. In fact even for an air pistol [6ft lb max permitted in UK] pretty weak. For all that it spits out pellets with remarkable repeated precision. Far better than other locally available single piston weapons of it's era. This is aided by the fact you can reload without significantly changing you grip on the pistol. Well made, well balanced, accurate, and well designed. a joy to behold and handle. That makes me a loony in the UK... Just shows how daft we have become over here. I used to own several Full bore pistols, [fully certificated of course] but not allowed to any more...our wonderful Government put an end to all that, the UK is sad case !

The Walther LP53 air pistol is one of the most desirable pistols in my collection. It is beautiful to look, at and was first featured in promotional posters of Sean Connery in 'From Russia With Love' and 'The Man With The Golden Gun. Later, Roger Moore was also featured with it in 'Moonraker' posters. This pistol was recently sold at Christie's for over £14,000.
The rear sight is adjustable, but is not as robust as the rest of the pistol.
It only comes in 0.177 calibre. It is a break bar ...
