Good Points: 130bhp pocket rocket with good mid range torque. Handles well. Good mpg. Very very rare model (only 459 made). Good bucket style front seats. Better option to RS turbo (more reliable) and less to maintain. Holds its value well. Will be a collectors car soon.

Bad Points: Attracts thieves and is easy to break into. Very weak doors, and the steering rack and petrol cap area prone to rust or rot, as is the car floor. Attracts boy racers.

General comments: The Ford Fiesta RS 1800cc is my first ever Ford, and I am very impressed. the Fiesta RS 1800 is a very rare car. Rarer than the Fiesta RS turbo. Mine is a K reg with a few mods. It had only covered 70,000 miles, and has a full Ford service history, and I am the 3rd owner. It has a 4" Magnex stainless back-box and middle section. It has been superchipped, and has piper-cross air filter, performance spark leads and plugs. It also has 143bhp 13bhp above standard 130bhp. The car has original RS 14" alloys, M3 mirrors and tinted windows. It is very quick, but I think it has to be the best handling hot hatch I have driven, considering its standard springs and shocks. It handles better than any Nova, Corsa or Saxo, and no Corsa or Saxo will beat it, unless your Corsa has a 2.0. A Saxo VTS will be slightly in front up to about 70mph, after that the RS1800 storms ahead and destroys it. I raced a Saxo VTS and left it all the way to 80mph. So I have 143bhp and a Saxo has 120bhp. The RS 1800 does 0-60 in about 8.3 seconds standard, and a Saxo VTS in 7.7sec. A similar rival to the RS 1800 is the Clio 16v, which has a 1.8 16v, and has 137bhp doing 7.7sec from 0-60, but the RS 1800 is faster mid range. I had a Clio 16v which is a better built car, but it had too many engine problems, and the RS 1800 seems more fun to drive. The suspension is very stiff and you feel every bump. Most people look at the side of it and just think it's a XR2i. If you own an XR2i 1.8 16v Zetec, I would recommend the RS 1800 because it is far better. I don't think I will ever be sell my RS 1800.
