Splendid read
General comments: My Spin on Cricket by Richie Benaud is an absorbing, interesting and comical read from the voice of cricket. As a former captain of his country and acclaimed commentator, Benaud is for many, the authority on the game. The book is full of witty and humourous anecdotes, and is in many respects a commentary on the modern game. Richie doesn't shy away from the important issues either and offers a revealing and balanced opinion on many topics including match fixing, betting, sledging and the use of techology in the modern game to name a few. For both newcomers and old hands, there is a lot that can be learnt from this book, the crying shame is that the man himself will not be carrying on his TV work to help educate the masses. A belting informative read that doesn't duck an issue and pulls no punches. Recommended.
