As a well travelled couple, we were surprised and thrilled with Kumuka and our tour of Sri Lanka. It is a hidden treasure generally untouched by major tourism. With friendly caring people, who are genuine, Sri Lanka offers a great mix of history, culture, wildlife and beaches. We were extremely lucky and as tour numbers were low, were the only two people of the tour.

Kumuka Worldwide Middle East Overland tour - had a fantastic time.
The sights we saw were amazing and kept getting better as the tour continued.
The truck was comfortable and suited to its purpose
The truck driver kept us safe on roads where the drivers are just crazy and the tour leader provided extra tips and information that enhanced my trip 100%
Just one word of warning the actual order that you visit sights in Egypt differs from the printed itinerary you receive when you get your final conf ...

I was on a tour when someone suggested Kumuka to me. Backpacking and tents is not for me so I disregarded the suggestion until my travel agent told me that Kumuka are a comparative alternative to Contiki. Well at 28 I felt I was getting too old for Contiki so I gave Kumuka a go. I booked a short European trip having previously completed a Italian trip with Insight (much more expensive and an older crowd) I knew that fact I was paying half what I paid with Insight that the hotels would be mor ...

I just finished a mediterranean Kumuka tour. My advice would be to plan your own trip as Kumuka don't give any info about where you're going anyway - you're just paying for an overpriced bus trip really & there's always add on costs. The whole tour of 41 people were really disappointed with what you get for your money (most hotels they put you in were in out of town inconvenient locations too). Kumuka's attitude to their customers is disgusting - once they have your money they couldn't care less ...

Kumuka's Wildlife & Falls tour was a trip of a lifetime!

We experienced so many amazing things such as trekking with the mountain gorillas, swimming with the dolphins, walking with the lions all on top of the safaris in the National Parks...amazing experience especially if you love animals!

It's amazing to see the way of life in Africa and the locals are not shy to show you their skills. And the smile on the kids faces are adorable and it'll make you want to stay forever - especially those a ...

KUMUKA WORLDWIDE TRAVEL: FLAVOURS OF VIETNAM REVIEW

"Flavours of Vietnam" - just the title conjured up all our senses. It wasn't because of the cooking classes that we chose this tour; it was because of date suitability. We were pleasantly surprised at this fantastic pig in a poke choice as the tour offered many other "hidden" flavours.

Indeed "Flavours of Vietnam" catered for all of our five senses: To mention but a very few: wonderful sights in paddy fields, Halong Bay, Hoi An; sound ...

Tour through Vietnam was great - Kumuka Worldwide tour guide was brilliant. Well-organised and good pace. Managed to see the most possible in a short time. Price was good for what we received. Cambodia tour was OK, but the tour leader was not as proactive as the previous guide.

I have just returned from the Wildlife and Falls overland tour of Africa with Kumuka and it was a fantastic adventure! Africa is just magic - I loved everything about the trip - the animals, the people and the culture. Whether it was trekking with frisky gorillas, walking with lions or hurling myself out of a plane 10,000ft over Victoria Falls - I was having fun! I would recommend travelling with Kumuka whole-heartedly as my experience was out of this world!

Booked a trip in 2008 to Peru with Kumuka. Terrible experience. Reps in UK over sell the trip - no representation in South America with everything sub contracted. Unconcerned about our experience on return to UK. I'll leave you to guess why it's taken so long to add comment.

On a 31 tour of Europe starting in Madrid and ending in London. Getting information out of the guides is like trying to get blood out of a stone. I should have left the tour on the first day when the tour guide told the group that we were getting a european holiday for 90 euros a day... and it was stated in a way that made you know that it was going to be cheap and nasty. All the supplied dinners in Italy were in the hotels, wow chicken and potatoes. Some of the hotels are miles from the cities. ...

Last year(April,2008) I went on the three week Kumuku Worldwide Gorillas and Game overland through Kenya and Uganda. I enjoyed it so much that I'm now booked onto a seven week overland from Nairobi, Kenya to Cape Town, South Africa in September, 2009.

Best bits from April, 2008 overland:
    * The staff in London were very helpful with ALL the questions I had to ask(and there were plenty)
    * Informative and helpful and extremely fun tour guides and driver
    * Meeting new friends(aged from 18-30, from ...

Did a small group tour with Kumuka in South America from Santiago to La Paz, and it was fantastic! It was my first time doing a tour like this and I'd do another. The tour leader was excellent and really helpful and the people were amazing, all very like minded and friendly. We covered loads in a short space of time and it really gave me a feel for travelling around South America which I continued to do after the tour. I would recommend ringing up to check the age profile of the group, I ju ...

I thouroughly enjoyed the European Medley trip with Kumuka Worldwide. We visited some great countries. It was really nice having Croatia and Slovenia near the end of the trip, as it was a nice change of the fast pace from the first half of the trip.

I did a 42 day trip in Africa with Kumuka. The trip was actually 2 combined 21 day trips, and the organisation between teh two trips was poor. Cleaning the truck, cooking food and erecting tents is all part of it, but our truck was old and in poor condition, and the tents had definitely seen better days. However, both our tour guides were really good, and we had a decent sized group with 15 on our first leg and 11 on the second, which made for an intimate and fun experience.

A really great tour with Kumuka Worldwide that I would recommend to anyone - I did a Northern Vietnam Trek tour from Hanoi to Sapa & Halong Bay, including overnight junk boat stay.

Good value for money. I have been on three of their trips now. Kumuka Worldwide are well organised and cover lots of out of the way places many tours do not go. There are better companies out there !

Majority of travellers are not british and caters mainly for those in their 20s.
    1) You are expected to clean the truck towards the end of the trip both inside and out and get very dirty.
    2) Must erect your own tents each night.
    3) Don't go on their optional trips. Expensive and badly organised. ...

    Our Kumuka guide was awesome.

Loved the hike to Everest Base Camp. I would do it again. It was excellent! The stay in the Teahouses were nice and clean. There was a good selection of food and drinks. Buying the water is good way to go and prices are not that large (100 to 300 rps).

The tour leader was very knowlegeable, enthusiastic and helpful and the truck was comfy and clean. Kumuka was a great tour, as you see so much of Africa. I definitely recommend this tour to everyone!!!

In March 2009, I went on a Kumuka tour of Bhutan: the Dragon Kingdom. Despite being only 9 days, the itinerary took us to most of the important sites in Western and Central Bhutan. There was no wasted time. The Dzongs/ Fortress-monasteries were amazing. My favorite two highlights were the Tiger's Nest Monastery and the Phobjikha valley. Things were on time, meals were all included, and the hotels were above average. The best part was the guide a very attentive polite man with a vast knowle ...
