Really nice people and excellent food, good wholesome fare and well cooked. If you're a lover of good ale the The Village Inn had three cask ales on over two nights and the cellarman knows his stuff as well, we were there for two nights and certainly couldn't fault the restaurant.
Already looking to book next year on our travels as well !

At The Village Inn I was disappointed with service of bar staff, waited in bar for 10mins to be served, bar staff knew we were waiting but did not acknowledge us or advise that we would be attended to. I feel this was very poor service.

I do not think this was a one off as we visited this establishment 3 times and on each occasion experienced the same service.

I experienced awful service - three requests for a glass of lemonade, two requests to get the bill, staff seemed so not interested, food average, wine terrible, bought a bottle of sauvignon blanc for - menu price 16.95, price on the bill 17.45! Price found next day in Asda 4.95 :-(

We had terrible service and the place wasn't even that busy, three cars in the car park on a rainy day. Perhaps they all knew better?

We came across The Village Inn by chance just driving through the village one night looking for somewhere to eat, whilst on holiday in Scotland.

The restaurant is huge, three or four large rooms just as the restaurant and a small bar at the other side of the building.

When you ask what fish is on, they say only what has been caught in the Loch in front of the restaurant that day - at least you know it is fresh.

Such a wonderful meal, in a great setting, scrubs pine floors and tables yet ...
