I ordered a free trial of bare minerals off of the radio. I thought I was treating myself to some high end make up that supposedly is very healthy for your skin. A few days after using the foundation and mineral veil, my skin was becoming increasingly dry and scaly. Then one morning I woke up and could barely open my left eye. First I should just say that I am VERY critical of cosmetic products. I love make up and experimenting with new things and wear at least some make up every day but I get sick of cosmetic companies making over the top claims about products which don't live up to the hype at all. Also I am on a VERY tight budget so I watch a lot of beauty blogs and read lots of reviews before I get new things. I have dry skin and am borderline anaemic, so moisture and good coverage are essential. My skin, although fair, is very good for a 44 year old - no blemishes and smooth, but the inner corners of my eyes are very discoloured (grey/purple) and I have dark areas beneath both eyes (nearest the nose). Found out about Bare Minerals Make-up by mistake. I was walking past the counter in Debenhams, when a girl asked if I would let her try this on my skin. I was in a hurry, but said it would be fine. This is the first time I have tried this make-up. I got the trial starter kit with foundation, bisque, mineral veil and brushes. I sometimes suffer from breakouts and bad skin so I thought I'd try this and it is awful. It hardly covers the skin and when I applied it more over the blemishes it just looked patchy, not a good look. I don't understand what everybody is raving about. I first became aware of bare minerals when I noticed how good a friends skin looked one day and she told me she'd been using a sample. I brought the starter kit and it is AMAZING. I have some pretty annoying scarring from spots and this covers it perfectly. I never write reviews but felt I had to the reviews on this web page are unbelievable bare escentuals is by far the best makeup I have ever used there is no mineral makeup that comes close to this brand! There are tricks to applying this makeup but when you learn how nothing comes close. I recently bought the 'get started' bare mineral kit and overall I am disappointed with it. I was looking for a decent foundation & got talked into buying this kit instead. The 'get started' kit does not contain the 'primer' ( additional cost of £18.00) they used instore, and I found that without this my skin does feel dry, uncomfortable & the 'finish' is not as good.

I must admit I'm a little worried by all the bad reviews of Bare Minerals make-up, & have been reading up on Bismuth & how lots of women are allergic to it. I'm 41, with the usual lines & uneven skin tone that comes with the territory, but don't have sensitive skin, so am hoping not to react badly.

I have had some problems with redness on my skin and general sensiivity to many makeup brands, even quite expensive foundatons seem to aggravate my skin sensitivity with dry patches on my nose and chin. BE seems to be the best so far on coverage and does not seem to cause my skin to flare-up. I would definitely recommend it to friends. Definitely worth a try. (read more)

I love Bare minerals. I have had acne problems for most of my life and this is the only product that does not make it worse. It covers red spots and discoloration beautifully. Its $25, which is a lot to me, but worth it. I usually use it up in a month and a half. The mineral veil helps to keep it on longer, and finish the look. Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals is amazing !! Truly lives up to its claim !! I was hesitant to try a powder foundation as I have always used liquid. But I am pleasantly suprised how well it covers imperfections and evens out skintone. I suffer with acne and there has been a definite improvement in my skin since switching to mineral foundation. I am also amazed how much more natural this foundation looks.

Absolutely love this product. I've been using bare escentuals for the past 2 months now and I haven't looked back. I used to use a cheaper version of this and liked it at 1st. feels very light on my skin and the best thing being i dont feel guilty if im too tired to take my makeup off before bedtime.
I have been using bare minerals eyeshadows for just over a year and loved them. At christmas time just gone i recieved the foundation, mineral veil, concelar, buxton lip gloss and warm radience.
I find the foundation easy to put on and it does give good coverage but it seems like it refelcts too much light. My face dosnt look greasy just very shiney and glittery....

I have very acne prone skin and Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals is the only makeup i can wear. I love the way I can keep reapplying it all day long and mix the colours to the shade I like best. I didn't find that it had any noticeable light reflecting quality and it definitely didn't make me have a health glow - quite the opposite really, as it made me look quite pastie, in addition to which it accentuatetd my lines and made my skin feel tight. Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals has been the only makeup that looked natural and didn't cling to all my face fuzz. I have never been able to achieve a decent complexion before this. The fact that it is natural, and doesn't contain any of the weird chemicals that make my skin freak out is a huge plus. I've been using bare minerals for a week now and my skin has that lovely dewy glow (not sweaty) look I've tried to achieve with my mammoth box of other make up brands. Now I have given all the other products away and just use the foundation, warmth and veil. Getting married in Feb and will definitely be using it and just touching up with veil during the day. Again, the foundation works really well on good skin days and doesn't cause break-out like liquid foundations can. But when my face is slightly damp, the brush itself can get a little wet, which can cause the foundation power to clump together on the brush. This can get really frustrating if I'm in a rush right after my workout. I also don't see the difference between the foundation power and the multi-tasking bisque; the ingredient are almost the same. Okay let me start by saying that I have awful skin. I get spots, but also am prone to dyness. Go figure, I thought I'd left all that trouble behind in my teens but no such luck, so I started the cycle of clogging up my pores with foundation to hide the spots which were probably caused by my foundation! Wasn't impressed with the coverage of Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals at all. Looks really dark on my fair skin, even if I buy the lightest shades. Lots of steps to apply, too. I thought the customer service was horrible and found it very difficult to get out of the club.
When I had to to return something it took a few months before I got my money back.

i can definitely assure you that you are doing it wrong,I work for this company and have never had a complaint about patchyness. Your best bet is to either watch the DVD that comes in the GSK or pop down to your nearest counter where someone will be more than happy to show you how to apply it
