“Refund policy”

Be careful, if you buy tickets for an event and you want a refund . Policy states that you have to send back tickets or in our case a piece of paper to get the tickets at the venue before they refund ! Through no fault of our own event that they advertised was not as stated on their website so I asked for refund . Travel Republic have wrong information on the website regarding the Ustun Hotel. I had previously stayed at the Ustun Hotel which was in a nice area close to where I wanted to be. When I arrived at the hotel I thought I was staying in I realised they did not have my booking. The staff there informed me that I may be booked in to a hotel that used to be called Ustun hotel. “Awful Complaints Procedure”

28 days to even respond. Complaint was closed without checking with us first. Therefore had to reopen a new case (another 28 days wait). AGAIN closed without desired resolution. We required a full refund from our hotel as per Hotels advice due to a faulty fire alarm that went off all night. The hotel advised us to speak with Travel Republic and they would grant a full refund. “Although saved money the reference code for flight a mess!”

The reference code for our flights was not recognized by easy jet, since in a hurry left to do it at airport. Then the staff at easy jet seem to be slightly lacking a brain since we were also slightly lacking a brain to and got there late although still in time if the staff had been on the ball. I booked the holiday through travel republic then went on Expedia and found it £100 the same day I contacted them and they would not refund me the difference as they do not do package holidays. I checked the price before I contacted them to see if it had gone down but it stayed the same once I spoke to them I checked again an hour later and they reduced there prices feel extremely cheated by them and will use on the beach or Expedia in future. “Car hire problems and poor resolution procedure”

I booked a holiday in Sicily - flights, hotel & car hire. Flights and hotel were fine. But the car hire was a real problem. We paid for hire and CDW up front but when we got to the airport in Sicily they insisted we had only basic hire - no CDW and minimal cover in case of accidents (far short of AA type cover). “Not good when your making a claim”

Booked holiday through travel republic, when we arrived our hotel was closed and we had to find alternative accommodation for the first night until they sorted us out the next day. We ended up paying an extra 190 euros for our nights stay, food and cab fares to the next hotel. Travel republic assured me that I would received a full refund for the hotel, they even said they could pay for it by card but it would take longer and we needed to get to the next hotel. I have used TR countless times previously and been happy with the service. Recently I used them for both accommodation and airport transfers. The airport transfer was a disaster as I mistakenly ended up taking a private taxi rather than finding the pre-paid taxi I had booked. I did not discover this until I arrived at the resort and the driver charged me for the journey. I have used Travel Republic for many years without incident however please beware that if there is a problem with your booking there is no support from Travel Republic. I booked my holiday on 1st August to leave on Sunday 29th September. I was emailed late Friday afternoon 27th September advising me that my hotel was overbooked. I booked a holiday with Travel Republic almost seven months in advance of travelling in September 2013. Paid the final balance when due, but four days before travelling I was told by email that the hotel had overbooked and we had been changed to another hotel which was not one I would have chosen or in an area I would have chosen. “The Price You Paid Then Goes Up”

They are agents who allegedly work on a live system so you would think that when you hit the confirmation button for the holiday, then that would be the price. Well, read their T&C's; they act as agents for third parties, such as 'Ryanair' and Hotels so expect a call within 24 hrs telling you that the price has gone up and when you ask for a refund, they will tell you that you can't have one, because they are only acting as agents for the hotels and airlines. Exactly what has happened to us, they put the price and even after I said we would pay the price they put it up again! I ended up booking my own flights because it could well have gone up again. Flight confirmed straight away!

Have used on 3 or 4 occasions and they are fine unless you hit any issues. On our last trip in Malta there was a mix up and our hotel room had not been reserved. As we arrived late at night we were given the only available room in the hotel - as you may guess not one of the better ones No contact back after speaking to the call centre from Malta, no contact on our return. “A shame Travel Republic can't be straight with customers”

Travel Republic could be good if only they were a bit more straight with their prospective clients. Firstly, this thing which you try not to mention about you being just an "agent" and therefore believing that you have no liability whatsoever to your customers in the event of a problem with their holidays. Poor communication with third party bookings. I booked and paid for 2 double rooms. Only one had been allocated. I rang Travel Republic numerous times (the week before my travel date) to be told that they were dealing with it. After being on hold for 25 minutes waiting to speak to someone (the day before I travelled) I was then told that the Manager would be calling me back that evening.
