“Accommodation facilities not as I expected”

I was disappointed with the company's customer support service as I was advised of a major hotel change six weeks after I bought a possible problem to their attention. It took another couple of weeks to sort a suitable alternative only to find that when I arrived in resort that the accommodation was not of the same type as described. My first experience with Travel Republic has not been a good one. After being recommended by many friends, I decided to give it try and book through this company. The booking was quick and easy which is what I have been the most pleased about. But unfortunately thats the only great thing to come out of this apart from the flights. Got to airport had a voucher to pick up a car at centaura car hire. We were informed the car had been cancelled and to contact cartrawler. Contacted cartrawler and was told travel republic had not made payment. Tried to get through to travel republic with no joy so had to pay 75 euros for taxi to hotel. “Stressful booking process with unhelpful customer service”

The customer service I received from the Travel Republic team was terrible. I was emailed to say that our flight had been cancelled and rescheduled to a different date so I contacted Travel Republic to try and re-arrange accommodation to suit our flight times. I was told that there was no room in the hotel we had booked for us to arrive earlier so we were forced to book a random hotel for one night. “Complicated a simple situation”

The idea of a travel agents like Travel Republic is that it is easier than going direct. This was not the case. I still had to manage the hotel and flight tickets as separate bookings. Despite giving Travel Republic the Advanced Passenger Information, they did not pass the advanced passenger information to one airline. They also did not inform the hotel that we had paid for breakfast, and most importantly did not actually pay the hotel. I made my final payment to travel republic about 3 weeks… Read Full Review

However, having chosen our hotel (Benal Beach) and arriving at our destination, the initial thought was 'we are here for three months?' how can this be? We had a dreadful experience with our 'private transfer', booked through Travel Republic and provided by '2Travel' - the driver was late, had the wrong place for the pickup (we had to hunt him down in the airport), and deposited us without ceremony (or explanation) in the middle of Barcelona, nowhere near the hotel and without directions. You didn't seem to inform the hotel that I had made the booking via yourself. Luckily they had spare rooms and upgraded me for free to a Junior Suite because of your mistake. They didn't even know at checkout that I had fully paid for the hotel to Travel Republic, so Im sure they will deal with yourselves. “Don't book your taxi through Travel Republic”

The taxi arrangements organised by Travel Republic were very poor. Not at all what you would expect in relation to a 5 star hotel. The firm they booked (Urbis) sent a very old and barely roadworthy minibus for the two of us. The driver was dangerous. We nearly had 2 collisions - one when he drove out of the hotel carpark without looking and one when a car turned right in front of us because he was far too close behind it. Previously I have been happy with travel Republic. This time they let us down massively. Our room was double booked and one week before we were due to leave they notified us that we had been put in a hotel 20km away on the other side of the island.
