I was a Toucan customer for more than 4 years. customer service is very bad after pipex took over.Toucan broadband and phone service were fine still pipex also was good with the broadband.I desided to move phone and broadband to BT.Then I had bad experients with Pipex.I was without broadband for 7weeks.Pipex didn't give the MAC number to me for six weeks,At last I got the help from OFTEL.Then Pipex cleared my line.there is no any change to go back to Pipex or Toucan in my rest of the life even if they give free service.I will not recommend to any one to get Pipex or Toucan.

Toucan claims contacted me to inform me i could claim my ppi from my mortagage and how much i would get back in total. They charged me £249 up front fee. I foolishly paid it they said the claim would take about 12 weeks altogether. They asked me to send them my credit report why they wanted this i had no idea. They said they would not be able to proceed without it. I sent it foolishly
They had not kept me informed of my progress i was the one constantly phoning them for update. Then they t ...

After reading some of the comments on here, I feel I have to write about my experience of Toucan so far. I have had it for the past 4 years, and in that time I have only been without service once (and I think it was because I inadvertently changed some router settings). I found their customer service to be very helpful and responsive at all times, however I joined them because they were the cheapest at the time, and now I see that there are cheaper providers I have asked them for a lower rate bu ...

If there were a minus score then Toucan/Pipex would get it. My elderly frail mother was with Toucan and had no problems. Unfortunately it was all transferred to Pipex. No one informed my mother of the transfer so she was totally unaware that her direct debit was cancelled until a bill turned up from Pipex, who decided to cut her off. My mother is hard of hearing and has low vision, she is 82yrs old, frail, prone to strokes, has had two knee replacements and is prone to falls. She lives 13 miles ...

Wouldn't use Toucan if it was free !! Spent 3 months with them and they managed to connect me for a total of 2 hours ! Endless 'phone calls, endless letters, endless expense. Was fobbed off, delayed, and one three specific different occasions, blatently lied too.
Have now moved to PlusNet. Not one single problem since.

Tried to change Broadband speed, all calls and emails failed. All telephone calls to customer service you pay for and but i've been kept waiting for ages. Some of the calls were terminated by them when they realised that they were not competent to answer the enquiries! After cancelling, I was asked to phone them again on a premium line to get my money back. Still waiting....

This was my first introduction to broadband so I was a bit green. I thought I was getting 8mb, when I complained they told me because of my exchange I could only get up to 2mb. My downloads now range from .400kbps to 12kbps and not very stable. Asked for my MAC code by email but have had no answer so far, this only makes me more determined to leave once my contract expires. Email should be answered within 24 Hours there policy not mine. SingaporeBob

I've been with Toucan for a number of years and I'm generally pleased with their service. They started on very competitive prices but have been overtaken in the last year by other cheaper providers. Well recommend toucan.com.

The reason I am writing this review is that at around 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, 6 September, the internet just hung and I had to End Task. I thought it might have been the web site I was on (although it was a well known site) and so disconnected, and switched off.
When I tried to log on Sunday morning I wasn't able to connect and Internet Explorer page coming up with the message unable to display the page. I kept trying this and in the end phone the service desk. I was also getting error messages ...

I really would not recommend Toucan as a provider, especially as Waitrose broadband which I switched to provide a substantially quicker connection, a much better customer service and technical support, which is also free to call. I think paying a little extra each month for the broadband connection is definitely worth it.

Although we canceled our contract with toucan in December 2007 and paid our final bill in January we have recently been sent bills and been threatened with debt collectors for unpaid bills supposedly accrued over that last 7 months. Toucan are trying to claim they have continued supplying broadband to our address even though we have been with an llu service in that time. I do not recommend this broadband internet provider.

Tried to transfer to Toucan. Their website lost my MAC code, and they asked by email. I responded, but their email address didn't exist! So I sent it to their helpline email. Another request for the MAC code, from the same inoperative email . So I phoned them and dictated the MAC code. After another week, they sent another request for the MAC code. I wrote a formal complaint letter by post, sending another (4th) copy of the MAC code. I got a written response promising action, but this week (one ...

I soon realised that Toucan was not for me and wrote to let them know that I would not be renewing my landline/broadband package contract with them. Had to stick it out to bitter end as could not afford penalty. Subsequently signed up with new service provider who said no need to contact Toucan as they would do all the necessary. Paid up to date, only to be pestered with numerous phone calls to not only my mobile, but my husband's too! They are demanding that I pay for broadband as I didn't spec ...

I do not recommend Toucan Broadband.
I cant believe that despite of living in one of the most developed countries in the world I still have providers that in my opinion are poor..

I've been with Toucan for over 2 years. Yesterday I'd had enough of the line speeds and decided to move provider. Phoned up to be told that I was still under a 12 month contract. It seems when I phoned up to leave in November last year the price incentive they gave me was part of a 12 month contract. Its a shame they they didn't mention it at the time as far as I can remember and when I asked them "Is this part of a contract?" they said no. I've no written proof that I'm under contract, no recor ...

Connection speeds we're slow for me personally, even though we were on the 8mb package, and close to the exchange. Limit you to 3Gb a week during peak hours, which is just about enough to play online on the Xbox (about 60mb an hour) and not a lot else.
Wouldn't recommend ever! You pay for the privilege of phoning them up to sort out their problems.

I have been with them for broadband and phone for 18 months and have had nothing but trouble as far as I am concerned with the staff and billing. It got so bad that I refused to pay my billing by direct debit. However as far as I am aware I still got charged, I have provided both online and on the phone friend and family numbers over 15 times (probably a lot more) and still it doesn't work for me! I asked them to remove mobile saver package, but as far as I am aware they have not yet done this. ...

I feel like I must be in a parallel universe when I read some of these comments; either that or I have been exceptionally lucky (not like me I am not usually the lucky one!).
Since I first took Toucan 3 years ago I have not had any problems whatsoever. I was on dial up to start with, changed to broadband about 18 months ago. No problems, fast courteous service from the sales centre and the service has always been exactly as they promised. Fast reiliable and consistent. The telephone calls are di ...

I do not recommend Toucan broadband!Where do I start? Call centre agents were unhelpful I think, cannot hear you properly. Moved house and wanted to cancel contract. Had to call several times and was told several different things in my opinion. Eventually managed to disconnect then received my final bill which was paid by DD, then received statements monthly telling me I was 6.19 in credit. Almost a year later I called and suggested they stop sending me the statements and return the 6.19 that is ...
