Good Points: Cheap bills, reliable broadband connection,
Bad Points: In 3 years not one bad thing to report.
General comments: I feel like I must be in a parallel universe when I read some of these comments; either that or I have been exceptionally lucky (not like me I am not usually the lucky one!).
Since I first took Toucan 3 years ago I have not had any problems whatsoever. I was on dial up to start with, changed to broadband about 18 months ago. No problems, fast courteous service from the sales centre and the service has always been exactly as they promised. Fast reiliable and consistent. The telephone calls are dirt cheap, even phone calls abroad are great value. I also get a 'free sim' (not a free phone) with 100 units free each month for being 'a good customer'. I rarely use all my units (minutes or texts) so my mobile costs me nothing.
My bills for broadband (8mg speed - no limits) my phone calls and my mobile phone are regularly less that £30 per month, Now thats what I call good value with great service. My line rental has remained with BT, but I notice that Toucan do it cheaper so I am just about to switch that as well.

I get broadband speed of 7.6mbps out of 8mbps and it's cheaper than most providers. I have access to online billing and customer services has been helpful when I've been in contact with them. Even the technical support team responded to my query within 48 hours and the information was bang on.
Absolutely no complaints from me.

As far as I am aware they have not yet replied to my emails even though its been agreed with the high level compliance team, account still active even though I no longer receive bb from them, I do not recommend Toucan.com broadband to anyone!

I was with them for 12 months, I should have left earlier I feel, Random disconnects in my experience, limiting max speed to under 2M as far as I am aware, when my new ISP has me at 3.5 on the same line. Unhelpful Customer service in my opinion, Technical support also was not very helpful as far as I am concerned, Billing for service not provided as far as I am aware. I do not recommend Toucan Broadband you'll have the same headache but it will be cheaper.

Throttle speeds on P2P, Torrents and full stop on Usenet DLS!Slow speed in my experience. Due to my experience I do not recommend Toucan Broadband as I feel I have not experienced any good points about this internet provider.

I do not recommend Toucan broadband. I am paying for them to disconnect me because I cannot take any more of the service. I am going to put up a blog I am that angry, Toucan.com have been the worst service I have so far experienced, poor internet connection as far as I am concerned, billing wrong every month so far for me. Customer service has been unhelpful in my opinion.

Toucan Broadband wasn't great when I joined, but it gave me reasonable broadband and low cost mobile phone as a sweetener.
But in the last couple of months it sank to ridiculous levels. Changing the customer service phone numbers and now charging for their use!
I regularly arrive home from work to find NO broadband connection.
When I do get one it varies from reasonable to worse than a 56k modem!
I have been told by customer service that I can enjoy an 8Mb connection - at best it has been 1.5Mb. ...

Been with toucan for 8 months and was very happy great speeds ect until last Monday when I noticed my speeds dropping. I phoned tech and after going through there comical tests twice I was told that my line only took up to 2Mbits, now for 8 months I'd been getting between 2.5Mbits and 3.2, 3.4Mbits and was getting these speeds with BT before they capped me and I left I paid BT for this upgrade so I know my line is capable of 3.9Mbits (I know thats not actual bandwidth I'd get) bear with me. I have been experiencing problems with my broadband for the last few months and as far as I am concerned Toucan has been unhelpful to work them out. When they finally decided to send the engineer, he didn't show up! The worst broadband provider and customer service I personally have so far experienced! Do not recommend www.toucan.com.

I canceled my contact in January as it was very slow and the service was promptly disabled, however I have since received letters threating to disable my already disabled internet and bills for another 2 months internet use. Broadband customer service is, in my experience, unhelpful while technical support is polite but ineffective. When you call their premium rate helpline you spend the first 10 minutes explaining that you have already tried the basic advice that you are being given, several times! Signed up for up to 8mb service and straight away noticed how slow it was. Months, and half a dozen emails later, after numerous vague commitments that the virtual paths at the exchange were being upgraded there was no improvement whatsoever. 1 year later, I was still only able to reach speeds of 20KB a second (only 4 times faster than dialup) which meant even streaming low quality video from Youtube was impossible. I've been with Toucan for two years and have never had a problem only one time they sent me a email claiming I was violating their fair usage policy in my opinion. This was just after a visit from the step son!! Now though I am looking for something with higher speeds and perhaps in a bundle of other offers such as free phone calls etc, recommend this broadband internet provider.

Do not recommend Toucan Broadband at all as I feel they have been a waste of my time, Ive been paying for broadband for the past month and been on slower than dial up! Ring up and complain? Gorget it! So called technical support has not been helpful in my experience! Im off to bt!

On the whole toucan broadband are very good. I reckon if the basics are covered then really its middle of the road as to who gives you a decent connection. Majority of times ive experienced a normal internet service from Toucan, Sky and Supanet. I give Toucan the edge though cos they, for me, sorted out everything that was necessary to get online and stay online. ive a stable connection that i use to play online games and download files from the web. What more can I say/

Impose new contracts & increase costs and as far as I am aware they never contacted me. I do not recommend Toucan.com as your Broadband Provider!

I personally would not recommend Toucan Broadband Internet.
In my experience, no support of any use to me was provided (but I was charged 35p a minute)... My emails only seem to generate automated responses.

Avoid at all costs. The only response you will get from them is an automated email which refers you to their fair usage policy. In my case, the fact that the were contradicting their own fair usage policy by throttling my band with 24hrs a day was too much to take. Toucan will happily throttle your band with but never ever offer any documented proof of their claims. Avoid at all costs!!!
