Looks fantastic, powerful smoth engine, engine braking very good. Brakes excellent. reliable and excellent all rounder. I've had the bike 6 months and definately don't regret choosing it. No other bike ticks so many boxes. Love it :)But engine is a Jeckyll and Hyde being fairly smooth up to about 6K then it goes beserk and flies to the red line. Standard screen poor, changed to touring screen 100% better.

What can I say, "MINT" My first big bike and I'm well impressed. love the look with underseat pipes and the gadgetry dash is good too. Mine rides realy smooth but have't had the balls to realy open it up yet. Very quick on acceleration and well balanced for hitting the bends with throttle open. The inline 4 seems to have irratic enging breaking so I suppose the discs and pads will last ages. Takes some getting used to but good once you are.
Just love it. Kids have grown up so I am free to just c ...

The FZ6, being an inline-four motor is very powerful at low rpms, comparative to any other simular motor. And Yamaha doesn't make the bandit, so I find it hard to believe (I'm quite positive it's made by Suzuki) and a Yamaha FZ6 will beat a 1200 bandit in any style race, due to the nature of it's herratige. The FZ6 is a higher performance machine.
Best All around bike. performs amazingly, affordable, durable. I am looking at 6500 miles already and not one complaint. See above.

Just dont buy a Yamaha FZ6. I ride a Yamaha Bandit 1200 as my normal bike and it beats this hands down. Same money......the difference will astound you.

Feels good to ride, can be a little daunting at first but gets better as you get used to it.
Excellent all rounder for nipping in between traffic and commuting long distances.

I have quite enjoyed the Yamaha FZ6 but had some niggles with the throttle position sensor (caused eratic tickover and poor throttle roll on, very jerky!) over a period of 3 months! dealer couldnt find the problem so I looked it up on the net! told them what it was! they didn't believe me but eventually changed it anyway, problem cured! Also had to have the head stock bearings replaced! (and no I don't wheelie!) so thats why the reliability is down

Pillion comfort is ok for short rides, and ...

I really enjoy the Yamaha FZ6 600cc bike. It soaks up big holes and pebbles very nicely, but it can do better in the cornering department. Changing the stock Dunlop's to the Pirelli Diablo's made a world of a difference. They handle so much better, and made the motorcycle handle so much better. The exhaust sound is really quiet compared to the litre bikes. And in my opinion, it looks and rides better then its competition the SV650's.
