I have been with BT Yahoo since they started a broadband service. Up until 18 moths ago I was relatively happy until moving home. Subsequent speeds have been woeful, technical support frustrating and hopeless while the options team are a waste of time- contract constantly downgraded in error. Homehub has caused difficulty with wifi login and backup network drives all of which work perfectly with the O2 hub. Don't believe the hype re the BT hub/service.

I have been with BT for approximately 10 years, from the days of 'cutting-edge' dial-up, up through the 2mb barrier, and just recently, with some trepidation, signed up for the '8mb' BT Total Broadband. Because I was also changing calling plans, cancelling credit card payments, setting up direct debit and then altering the amounts that I would pay, I had to make several calls, using several different free phone numbers. Not everyone I spoke to understood my Canadian accent, or I theirs, but if t ...- Read Guest's review (581 words)

I've been with BT for 2 years now and cannot wait until my contract expires. Customer service and tech support is poor and the staff at their call centres are rude and unhelpful. At £24.99 per month for Option 3 its expensive with daytime speeds of around 2.1mb dropping to as low as 512kb of an evening which is totally unacceptable.
When my BB failed in Nov 2008 it took over a month to get it reinstated. After only 3 days one advisor told me the fault was at the exchange but it still took ...- Read Guest's review (174 words)

BT Yahoo! Internet easy to use, good content but really slow to load sometimes and other response times can be painfully slow- Read Guest's review (22 words)

BT Yahoo! Internet is reasonably Fast & Reliable. Customer service not too bad if you contact by email (although a reply takes a couple or three days).
The verbal/call centre is hopeless as it is difficult to understand the advisors and they do not seem to have a clue at times.- Read Guest's review (100 words)

Switched from virgin media to BT! Yahoo internet 2 years ago. Service was good to start, speed were alright, But afterabout a month the hub phone stopped working, The speeds were very slow, all day. The Connection dropped aswell. Rang tech support, indian call centre, The man was very ignorant, and didnt help me at all, he transferred me to someone else in the indian call centre and she was very helpful and polite, got me a new hub phone sent out. Reliability and speed were still rubish though, ...- Read mat1823's review (123 words)

I experienced absolutely appalling service with BT Yahoo! Internet. I've had dealings with all major ISPs (I'm an IT guy), and BT Total Broadband seemed the worst to me.
The technical support team didn't sound like they had a clue, I had to ring them only for them to tell me the same stuff over and over again. No straight answers, no real experts.

I`ve been with BTBroadband for 5 years, prior to that I was Freeserve Anytime in the wilds of Wales. My connection is only 2mb in speed but its miles better than what I had previously.I use video a lot on myspace & youtube & have made many films & experienced no problems I could identify as BT`s fault. Yes I`ve had a few problems with BT Yahoo! Internet which get resolved eventually. At the time its frustrating . Cant remember what last problem was, its so long ago. I do weigh up the cost of No ...- Read chris39's review (304 words)

BT Yahoo! used to be quite good, customer service has always been flaky, and packages have always been expensive. However regarding the recent problems with the email service, and horrific traffic shaping I am now considering moving supplier- Read Guest's review (103 words)

I was with BT about 18 months ago and the service I recieved was terrible. The speeds at weekends and evenings would be unacceptable. They were so bad that I couldn't even watch videos on websites like youtube and this was on an 8MB connection (which was actually connected/syncing at the full 8128 with an IP profile of 7150).
Their customer support was the worst of the worst. It is located in out-sourced call centres which is costly and none of them had a clue when I was trying to explain the pr ...- Read ChrisBUK2's review (119 words)

I have been a customer of BT Yahoo since 1996 but only staying through inertia they have been spectacularly bad at times. Now I have a problem apparently generated by an old accounting system redundant since 2002, it apparently says I owe them subs so its cut off my service email and all. All their helpdesk people (a nightmare to contact) say its nonsense but they don't know who controlls the old system I have been cut off for three weeks now and they still can't identify who in BT can solve th ...- Read J Baverstock's review (102 words)

Appears to be always available in the village that I live in and speeds seems good enough.
Security is really bad. BT have provided an account for me as my.name@btinternet.com and also to another person with the same name as I have as my.name@btopenworld.com. I receive messages for the other person and I assume he receives some of my messages. Some of the messages that I receive for the other "me" are very personal and also some provide information that I could use. Over the last 5 or 6 yea ...- Read LittleSport's review (132 words)

Not to be relied on if you actually want to rely on your service because if there's a problem it's hard to get a solution as I have found in my experience. Therefore I do not recommend btyahoo.com.- Read chateauferret's review (84 words)

Billing is poor as far as I am concerned from my experience, they do not mention in their adverts that they charge for three months in advance after a couple of weeks of service as far as I am aware therefore I do not recommend BT Yahoo! Internet.- Read hassner's review (68 words)

Speed is now poor in my opinion. Reliablility excellent. Have never used support therefore I cannot comment on their services. However BT Yahoo! Internet has for been slow and getting slower in my opinion. I used to average a bit over 2Mb/s, now down to about 1.6. When my exchange unbundled I will probably go with BeBroadband.- Read Guest's review (70 words)

Works as standard, when connection is working well. Easy and simple setup and fewer hassles than other providers in terms of bills etc
Generally too expensive for what you get in my opinion, and you are tied in to a long contract.- Read mango78's review (62 words)

Have to phone up on average every two weeks because the wireless network doesn't work then someone takes over the computer and spends 30 to 90 minutes trying to make it work.
Fed up having to phone up and spend so much time just waiting when I have more important things to do, do not recommend BT Yahoo!- Read Guest's review (60 words)

I've been with BT over the last three years and it was fine. Since about 6 months it is just useless. I'm paying for 8 meg unlimited broadband and what I'm getting is nowhere near this name. As far as I am aware my line is capable of 6.3 meg transfer but BT cups it down to 2.8 meg at best in my opinion, off peak and not even a 0.5 meg during the peak time which is roughly between 4PM to midnight and weekends. I was trying to get this problem sorted many times. Customer service is unhelpful in my ...- Read weelk's review (362 words)

Connection exceptionally slow on a regular basis. Not in the same ballpark as virgin broadband speed.
If I had been aware of how slow the average connection speed was I would never have swapped from virgin.- Read Guest's review (40 words)

I feel I received poor service providers. Poor broadband speeds, and overall not worth the money you are charging in my opinion.
If I find a better provider then I shall bite their hands off, because I dont think bt really bothers about me as customer.- Read matthewmuir1's review (51 words)
