    Good Points: Good sound
    Retro look
    Under £40

Bad Points: None when considering price

General comments: I bought the Matsui DABR100 DAB digital radio for around £40, and I have to say, for a cheap DAB system I thought it was pretty good.

I don't use it as a main radio, I use it in the bedroom, and granted I have linked it to my surround sound system, and now it sounds awesome. That said, I thought it sounded pretty good anyway for the price... It's £40! What more do you want?

Yes the Matsui DABR100 DAB digital radio is cheap, but its not making me very cheerful just yet. It seems the set receives a fraction of the DAB stations I should be able to receive in my area. It also seems to require 1-2 minutes to get a full signal on the few stations it does receive. And, just to top things off, the FM tuner is useless - appalling reception in a place where other FM radio stations work well. Anyone else having issues like this? I'm about to take it back to Currys.

Cheap and cheerful DAB radio. I paid £34.95 from Curry's.
I bought the Matsui DABR100 as it has phono outputs. Plug it into the hifi and it sounds brilliant. On its own speakers it's acceptable but not brilliant.
    Buy it if:
You want a DAB tuner to connect to hifi
You want a cheap second DAB
You are unsure about whether DAB's for you.

    DON'T buy it if:
You want a standalone good sounding set.
You want a battery operated set.
You don't like the black and silver look. ...
