Good Points: Low Prices
Bad Points: On Time Performance Overcrowding Small seats
General comments: I try to avoid America West now whenever possible. The only selling point for America West has been very low fares that are usually less than $250 coast to coast, comparable to Southwest Airlines. But is it worth being crammed into a 737 aircraft, and sitting in Airport terminals for hours because they routinely oversell and overcrowd their airplanes? Every one of my last 6 flights with AW were delayed at least one hour, and many people would be at the gate on Standby because other flights had been delayed. It was systematic. Because there is a lack of in-flight services, I would never recommend flying 3 hours plus on any of their aircraft. There are many better options with American Airlines or other carriers, without the hassle you are sure to experience with this carrier.
