Marriott hotel used to be a palace and the design of the main building is unlike an other hotel you can stay at on the Nile. It also has some nice gardens (where the pool is located). Harry's bar, whilst not the best pub in the world, is the liveliest bar I've been to in Cairo and is also used by locals. Some of the rooms have a balcony that looks over the gardens, nice for chilling out while having a bite. Serive and condition of the hotel is up to scratch.

For standard of rooms, facilities and amenities, JW Marriott is the best hotel I have stayed at in Cairo. The only potential problem is that it is located on the edge of Cairo, so no views of the Nile or pyramids here. Having said that, I will stay here again as this is an ideal hotel to stay at on business. There is a nice pool and beach complete with wave machine, a separate club house with bar so you can relax with a few beers and play pool, a large choice of restaurants and everything in the hotel is immaculate.
