Good Points: "As you see the sky" display.
Vast amounts of data can be added to the heads-up display system.
Up to date, easy to navigate around the program.
Space ship feature is great fun.

Bad Points: States that the program is for the advanced/serious astronomer, this I find is not true. Great program for all astronomers and people who have an interest in the subject.

General comments: Imaginova Starry Night Pro v.5 is, by far, the most impressive and accurate, astronomy planetarium software on the market today.
There is a wealth of features in this program that make it so impressive.
The HUD or heads-up display can be modified easily to show a great deal of technical detail about any object that you point at with the mouse.
The sky calender keeps the user up-to-date with any new data that comes from observatories and the space industry from around the world. It also shows forthcoming events such as eclipses and meteor showers.
You can set the program to search for automatic satellite,asteroid,comet updates.
There is a power update feature to search for updates for the program itself.
There is a favourites feature that allows you to store your favourite nightsky objects and find them instantly.
You can travel anywhere in the universe and "go there" instantly.
Ther are breath taking images of thousands of deep sky objects.
There is also a spaceship feature that allows you to take control of an imaginary spaceship and to fly that spaceship around the universe using the keyboard, or even using a joystick!
The program can be set to show the sky from any location on Earth and the time can be adjusted to show the sky from 9999 b.c. to 9999 a.d. at any time of the day or night.

All the features together make this program a must have for anyone who has an interest in space/astronomy/cosmology. The program is extremely accurate and up to date.

This program is great fun for family members of any age and can give the user the feeling of being outdoors, even on those cold wet nights when you can't get outside and observe the sky for real.

Even if you have no interest in astronomy now, go out and get this program and I am sure that Starry Night Pro will make you want to get out there under the stars and see for yourself.
