Good Points: none
Bad Points: Could not offer refund on unsuitable goods, no mention is made at the point of purchase nor in any t&c's.
General comments: Dreams PLC could not offer refund or exchange on unsuitable goods, no mention is made at the point of purchase nor could I find it in any t&c's. Staff seemed rude and unwilling to help and openly admitted that if they are not breaking the law they can do what ever they like!

We purchased an order to value of £2300 from Dreams Plc in March. The mattress, £900, is has caused us considerable physical discomfort. It has gone from being like a stiff board to sagging in the middle, offering no support, extremely uncomfortable on both counts. The bedpost has a large crack in it, the holes drilled on boards and sides mismatch, the mirror brackets are insufficient for weight of mirror and, both chests of drawers have cracks in bases of drawers. We have emaile ...

We ordered a bed and mattress (by phone) in late March and were told that it would be delivered 2 weeks later. Unfortunately the delivery was postponed twice - both times because the items had not been sent to the depot. When the bed finally arrived (6 days after the original date) though it was very good quality and I can't fault it. I've no problems with the goods, but I would advise people (especially if like me they are moving into an unfurnised house) to expect a delay of at least a week, a ...

My wife and I went to look for a new bed frame to replace our existing bed. When we decided to see what dreams had to offer and we saw a bed we liked. The branch manager showed us mattresses and we ended up deciding on replacing the mattress as well (he was good at selling).
We went home decided on the dreams bed and returned to the store with the dimensions of our existing Mattress to ensure that it would fit into our room. The manager told us that the dimension (160 x 200cm or 5' x6'6") was ...

My best advice is buy your bed somewhere other than this company unless you enjoy spending months on the phone to their customer service (!) dept and getting nowhere. I do not recommend buying from Dreams!

Beware the Dreams "comfort guarantee," we bought a mattress, the list price was £819, when we went to pay, the salesman put a mattress cover in a bag and said you get a free mattress cover, and also I am going to give you a free 10 year guarantee. We paid the £819 and waited a few weeks for delivery, which was fine. When the mattress was delivered I found it very uncomfortable, however, I was not too upset as we had the "comfort guarantee" which said that if after 30 days you find th ...

I went to Dreams because (let's face it), I was lazy. They are in most high streets and you can try the beds. However, what you try in the shop and get at home are different things as I came to find out.My mattress is a Chaucer with latex top and pocket springs in a super king size. It cost '£1478 which is a lot for a mattress. I was told that if I had any problems to come back - but I wouldn't want to as this would be exceptionally comfortable. I tried it in the shop and it was supportiv ...

Bad business practice. Did not give you 7 to 14 days cooling period as trading standards policy. Will charge you a hefty fine if you cancel order. Some 20% or so. Not very frindly after sales.

I bought a memory foam mattress, being told I could exchange it if I didn't like it. The manager of the store offered me a '£40 discount, and told me that if I exchanged, then I would simply have to pay the discount back. So I went ahead and bought it.Although comfortable at first, after a few nights the bed got much softer and dipped too much in the middle, and caused myself and my wife back pain. We went to exchange it and were told that we could exchange it as many times as we wanted. ...

Ten months ago I bought a new Divan bed for my wife and I, and my 8yr old son a Malmo High sleeper bed. Firstly after a couple of months, we noticed our divan kept moving apart - turned out that one of the wheel brackets collapsed. Dreams sent out repair man who informed us that more than one of the brackets had collapsed. Neither my wife or I are over weight so it was not due to excessive weight. Because the base appeared to be such poor quality, I asked dreams to agree to exchange the bed ...

If I had read other customers comments on the net I would never have gone into a Dreams plc shop. They never ever return telephone calls. If you buy from them BEWARE. If you still decide to buy from them after reading this then make sure the salesman writes the anticipated delivery on the front of your order form. Read the small print on the back of the order form before you pay for the goods. Their terms and conditions have been deemed unfair. I'm now going to issue a summons to recover my &pou ...

Lots of expensive phone calls to Dreams PLC customer centre and shop, all to no avail. Sent cancellation letter 2/9/07 asking for a refund. They then phoned to say the headboard would be delivered 10/9/07 - nothing arrived. Still waiting as of 27/9/07, no refund either. Have now sent yet another letter (the phone centre keeps you hanging on for 30 minutes before answering, and calls cost about £4 at a time).

You pay extra at this shop for home delivery. I paid about £30 for delivery between 7 and 14 days. Weeks later, and I've heard nothing.
I phoned up and, after sitting in a telephone queue for half an hour, I was told that the person couldn't deal with my problem and the people I needed to speak to were on other calls, but they would call me back. Of course, they didn't call me back. In fact, on the dozen or so occasions I've been promised this, on not a single occasion have I been phoned ...

Let me recount to you our painful experience with Dreams, which has left us bewildered and vowing never to use their services again;
04/10/06 We ordered, from their Bromley branch, a single and double mattress and paid in full £348. The Products in questions were one single and one double Ready Matt Visco mattress and, for the record, said on the label '5 year guarantee, suits all base types, suits all body weights, usable in minutes'.
20/10/06 My wife picked up both mattresses, a ...

I purchased a bed from Dreams on 30th November 2004. It fell apart on 10th September 2005 still under guarantee. I spoke to the shop where I bought the said bed who was very unhelpful. In the last month I have written to there head office and phoned a dozen times with promises of someone is going to phone back and arrange for the bed to be fixed. No letters or phone calls have been received and I am still waiting for the bed to fixed while my son sleeps on the floor.
