    No

    Just... No

    Don't even think about it.

I bought this SMK XS36-2 some time ago now. I was looking for a fun rifle, with enough power for plinking and possible hunting. I unboxed it with excitement.. Pulled out this massive heavy lump of wood and iron, I thought, "well it's a little bigger than I'd expected, but heck, that means it's sturdy!" With some RWS Superpoints, I fired off some rounds with the iron sights, it's performance was poor to say the VERY least. It's inaccurate to the point where it's useless. I thought perhaps the barrel could use a clean, but no, even after a really good clean with some JB compound, it still didn't shoot where it was meant to. It's a nasty piece of rubbish and I see no reason for you to buy an SMK when for a little more you could get a BSA, or a gamo?

Don't but this gun, or any SMK, it's a waste of money, it's not fun, it's not anything.

I recently bought the BSA Meteor Mk7, to replace it. It's in a different league, it's pin point accurate, powerful, and the handling is superb. I highly recommend it.

The SMK XS36-2 is the best air rifle that i have ever had for a self aired rifle other then that co2 rifles r the best but so far i love this rifle. Good accuracy, value for money, controls pests.

well had the SMK XS36-2 rifle a month now and is good at keeping pests under control. i wanted to upgrade spring so asked in local hunting shop in which they advised me not to put a ox or the likes spring in as it would "rattle the gun to pieces", which i found odd as a few reviews on here said they done this with no problems, i also heard that fitting a gas ram system to the rifle will make it even more powerful than fitting a good mainspring,
has anyone done this would like some info
    overall t ...

Read a few reviews, and yes it was not doing what it said ' out of the box, decided to give it a clean and tune.
Took the thing apart, read a few reviews etc, made a spring compressor, when I looked in the thing there was not any tension on the spring, pushed the retaining pin out and had to pull the spring out??
Any way filed, ground and polished everything, had to replace the piston washer because swarf turnings were stuck in the face of the washer (from new) The spring was mishaped although t ...

Bought this gun for myself as i gave my b4 to my son,i was pleased with my b4,but the power and finish with this is far better.
for the money this gun is fantastic,i could never afford 200 quid plus.
also bought smk mill dot 4x32 scopes as they are quite short and dont go over the loading chamber.
all in all great gun great price well pleased

This is just a follow up review of my previous comments on this rifle. I have had the gun for 3 months now and love it! It is on the heavy side and the stock is prone to marking but overall I think its great value for money. As I stated in the previous review the trigger mechanism is a little tricky to strip down but after 2-3 times its no problem.
The comment made by another person on my previous review is absolutely right, I was wrong to say you need to remove the trigger mechanism to swap t ...

I have recently purchased the XS36 underlever rifle purely to tune it up and see what can be done with it.
I am impressed with its looks, the stock was well finished but is prone to marking easily but no big deal--just be careful!
This is a meaty looking gun and i agree with a previous review where he stated it looks like a shotgun. The rifle feels good when you aim it but is heavy. it comes with interchangeable front site posts.
Loading a pellet does feel a little fiddly at first but thats ...

first thing to do when you get it is to give it a very good clean down, touch up the blue, then fit a good scope on.
once all this has been done fit a lamp
half way through your night shooting however, you may want to strap your arm up due to the pain from the weight of the rifle.

The SMK XS36-2 (QB36-2)offer great power I'm guessing 11 ft/lbs /(it will go straight through a baking tray @ 20 yards) .Overall this is a great gun , easily enough to use.If your like cheap thrills this guns for you! Though it weighs a lot and it could do with a diet.

Based on it's $75.00 price this SMK XS36-2 -like more and more of the Chinese models- is a steal. I have the QB36-2. I don't know how they differ from the poorly rated QB36-1, but this is a keeper. Man does this gun have presence! It's big and long and shoots 1" groups @ 35 yds. It's so big I think whatever you point it at might pass out. I'm in the US so it has the stronger spring and although I haven't chronied it yet I can say that if I use too light a pellet I will get a rather loud crack wh ...

Powerful and shoots true i.e. 12 shots at 30 mtrs within the size of a 50 pence piece. It is well made with very little recoil due to the vented recoil pad. I checked out on the chrono reads just under 12ft lb.
It is a bit heavy for using all night but, hey at least you get a workout at the same time! Gun stock easily gets grooved if not careful.

Tend to get light reflect back from barrel sight if using a scope and tactical lamp, really need something along the lines of a deben tracer atom.

Good gun to start out with but a bit heavy for weaklings. Overall the SMK XS36-2 is a very good gun.

Now I've had the XS36-2 for 12 months, I can give you the full low-down
You have to bear in mind that we are dealing with a gun that cost £75 quid & not something like a Weihrauch HW77K which costs £330 quid.

I mention the Weihrauch only because, whilst the XS36 is not supposed to be a copy of anything, it is a very similar configuration to the HW77K i.e. an 8lb (the weight of the gun not it's power) under-lever with a sliding breach and, in fact, looks quite similar to the W ...

I am not being really fair the gun is very good for the money and the finish is good feels well made on a budget
It is a shame there is no silencer available for this gun because you get set up bunny's come out you have 1 shot and everything in a 200yard radius has gone.
I got my gun stripped down and polished the inside and treated it to some good quality air gun oil and it was loads better, then removed the end sight which is just far to big this all helped but it is still a budget springe ...

I got this weapon as a replacement for my poor quality b3 underlever which died a few days before i got this one. When i took it out of the box and held it the weight surprised me actually but it feels better than the lighter guns. I found the accuracy and power is very consistent to 30 meters once zoomed in. The soft trigger strength is great for accuracy as you don't need to pull it as hard to release the bolt which means the gun doesn't twist in your hands as much. And the underlever doesn't ...

The forward iron sight is non removable except with a grinder .......:( and unless you put stand off's on the guide rails a standard scope will "see" the iron sight but other than that once it has been tidied up it is a very hard hitting air rifle :).......it does benefit from a liberal coating of PTFE spray in the piston chamber and spring guide, (you can get it from Halfords !!) Seems to really like "wasp" pellets by Ely, Bisely Magnums are good too, but they are much slower in the air and hav ...
